The MASTER how to delete old addresses From Experian

So I spoke with EX today and the rep informed me that she deleted the addresses. However, I received an email several hours later stating that the results were in. I checked and 1 of the addresses were gone, but the other 3, which are just 3 different variations of the same address are highlighted and says it means they're in pending status. Now that soes not mean the other 3 won't be removed does it?

I will just assume they didn't want to remove them so I'll repeat the process tomorrow. If it doesn't work tomorrow I'll wait 3 weeks and try again!

Sorry I'm new here but what does deleting my old addresses do? Any negatives I have on my report are from my previous address from many years ago

It makes it harder for the CRAs to verify that negative tradelines belong to you.

They tie tradelines to you based on multiple points of information - and address is one of those data points.

It is also a good idea to clean your old addresses off your reports, to prevent any future mail to you from being sent there again (potential for ID theft).

EQ and TU will usually delete all old addresses with no question.

EX will push back on old addresses tied to negative tradelines. Search for the Master EX Address thread.

Has anyone ever filed a FTC ID theft report affidavit, it looks pretty official when you print it up, I wonder if this can be used if they still refuse to delete addresses?

Only do this if you really are a victim of ID theft.

I think it is illegal to file a false ID theft claim.

Yes, bad idea, like trying to flush a pork tenderloin down the toilet.

I just hope now they are about removing the negatives since there isn't an address there. I only have a Cap 1 entry, BK, and 2 medicals to remove and I got the addresses associated with them deleted

My negative line is attached to my SSN.

So even though my name and address do not match anything on my credit reports, they continue to validate.

I suppose SSN trumps everything else.

What negative is attached to your social?

It's a CC CO. Never went to a CA, stuck with the OC. (so many acronyms lol)

You would probably have more luck with literally ANY other type of negative.

EX deleted the address associated with the CO and I mailed off a dispute to them last week, so I should know something for sure this month.

As long as address is removed you should be fine

All 3 CRAs verified without a matching address once already.

Bank of America

Bank of America

What did you dispute it as and did you send follow up disputes?

"Someone with same or similar name" because BOA has a name that is the incorrect middle initial.

That came back verified.

Submitted a jackattack dispute via snail mail and on online. Selected "other" and uploaded the same jackattack letter I snail mailed.

Not familiar with BOA

They evidently have a reputation of being extremely difficult to get removed.

I spent a week on and off the phone with their Executive Office threatening to sue for reporting incorrectly. They spent an entire week getting everything in order and ended up correcting their reporting errors instead of just deleting.
