The MASTER how to delete old addresses From Experian

I have an address that is tied to my Ex-Wife who moved to another state. The address is hers and is tied to an account we once jointly held. The account is good, but is now closed. What's the best way to get rid of this?

Is the address tied to anything negative? I mean besides your ex-wife?

This is great! I have one TL with a CO that is associated with an old address, per EX.

EQ deleted all my old addresses, I disputed them online with TU and was notified that my request would require manual processing, requested deletion on EX via the phone and was told I'd get emailed results in 24-72 hours. If EX doesn't work, I'll call again next week following this script. I actually have sent the OC many letters CMRRR over the past two years, including one a couple of weeks ago, so that part I won't be lying about!

I've also opted out of LN and have requested my report from them so I can start disputing stuff on there, too.

Next step once the old address is deleted from TU and EX (knock on wood) is to send a written dispute for the CO TL claiming it's not mine, right?

nysbadmk8, is there a reason one should delete all previous addresses? If you answer I hope I get your response... Not sure if I have to log in to get your reply.

I am going to share EXACTLY how I got 6 Old addresses remove from EX EVEN WITH THE OLD ADDRESSES ATTACHED TO REPORTING TRADELINES

1st Call- Tell the operator that your concerned about the false addresses on your report, they will then ask which ones are false... Approach this one by one, Either answer you never lived at that address, Or its associated with a family member, but NOT you.

They will remove everything that ISNT attached to a tradeline- When they say they cant remove an address because its currently reporting on a tradeline, ASK WHICH ONES, write them down, tell them have a great day!

2nd call- 3 WEEKS LATER- Start it off the same way, tell them you want to remove false information on your reports. Give them the address, they will retort- No we cant its reporting on so and so tradeline... Answer like this- " Yes I know, I sent them a letter telling them to update their records 3 weeks ago, Certified mail, They received it, I've waited this long for them to update"

If you then get anymore push back ( I did ) You tell them this- I have done everything I could to update this creditor, If they have not taken action to update the tradeline, that doesnt mean the information isnt false, and It doesnt mean you should continue reporting this false information.

Make your case, BE FIRM.

Thats verbatim how I did it.... Old addresses, Incorrect Name spelling, Spouse information, etc. My report ONLY reports my current address.

Great stuff 👍🏻

I called today and I got a crappy representative. I told him that they had my current address listed as a former address and the former address that I had no association to for over 12 years listed as my current address and that the information that was being reported was inaccurate. This representative told me that because I lived at the old address they had to report it on my report.

I told him but, that is not my current address. Your information is being reported inaccurately and how could an address that I have had no association with for over 12 years be required reporting on my credit report. Well maam you admit to living there. I am not going to lie I became really irate and pissed off. I said do you not understand that address has no ties to anything on my credit report and like Equifax, you are exposing to possible fraudulent activities. No joke, I got so pissed I hung up the phone. I lost my patience. I will send a letter in writing and see what happens (providing them a copy of the 3 forms of identification required).

Also, Transunion and Equifax deleted all addressess and previous employers from my credit reports upon request without proof or submittal of additional information.

Fantastic information +1

I know many commented that EQ and TU were more compliant with removing incorrect data in the Personal Information session; however, I used the same first call talk track with each CRA. EQ and TU removed all information without any push back. The experience with EXP was spot on to what was indicated in the post. About 40% of the incorrect eddies were removed because they were not associated with reported accounts. Now, I'm preparing for step 2 and will report my results in a few weeks.

Well my first round was not as successfully as I thought. I did not receive confirmations from EQ or TU on the changes so I had to call back and each CRA representative said they had to initiate a removal of the false addresses and employer information. I will receive confirmation from both via mail between 7-30 days.

My second call with Experian was ZERO success. The agent just went on and on about how he could not do anything and the creditors would need to report the correct address. He then offered to transfer me to the fraud group which led to a long-wait time with no representative picking up the call. I think I may layer in the paper route for Experian and wait for those results before re-attempting the OTP dispute.

As a note - All reports are frozen [including LN].

No luck with Experian today, not even one.the rep was not rude simply said couldnt delete any address, they were tied up to negatives.

My current address is being reported with a positive trade line but still no luck. I need 7 addresses deleted.

TransUnion and Equifax already deleted all address just Experian being Experian.

Hi guys,

So I was able to delete ALL addresses from Equifax and Transunion with no problem about 2-3 months ago. This entire time (about 2-3mo) I've been working on Experian and they would not budge. So yesterday called them (714-830-7000), I was immediately forwarded to a rep in Costa Rica. She pulled my report and told me "you have 2 accounts attached to this address I can not remove it", so I said "that's strange, what accounts are those", she replies "Value City and Bank of America". I then asked her if she was in the US, she said no Costa Rica, I then requested to be transferred to the US executive consumer department. She immediately transferred me.

A supervisor answered (I think they're all supervisors in this department because every time I call this is what they say). I started the entire conversation over as if I never spoke to the woman beforehand in Costa Rica.. I said hello, I would like to have a address removed from my credit that does not belong to me. She asked which address. I told her. She then responded "ma'am there's 2 accounts attached to this address I am unable to remove this address", I responded "what accounts", she replied "I can not share this information", I then said "I spoke to Value City and BofA 3 weeks ago requesting they update my address, are these the accounts or are there others because it seems as if they would have updated them by now".. she then says "oh ok, well those were the accounts, if you spoke to them I will go ahead and delete the address".. I'm screaming inside because I literally have been calling and mailing letters for months trying to get this address removed.. This was yesterday, I ordered an updated report from creditchecktotal.com this morning and the address is gone..

This address is connected to an account that has about 5 late payments that's draining my score by at least 70-80 points.. it's a car loan.. So my next move is to dispute this car loan as not belonging to me or mixed file and getting it removed..every other time I've disputed it they came back as verified by name, address, ss# and DOB.. hopefully it's removed since the address is not longer there

Bump.

I was successful with disputing my old addresses all via phone through Transunion. They didn't even bat an eye or care when I made mine. Equifax I was able to also dispute via the phone as well using the exact same script that was shown here, calling in about potential fraud and inaccurate addresses, even trying the whole this address is associated with a family member type stuff.

Experian was much tougher though. The lady I talked to was nice, and she was able to get rid of most of the old addresses, except the one where she was saying that "that's what I asked you at the beginning about where you've lived if you haven't been at your current address for over two years." She gave me a little bit of an attitude there and would only remove inaccurate versions of that address, etc.

Not sure what to do now besides waiting a few more weeks and calling again. I might go ahead and send in a written request to take care of that part, but start with my other disputes on TU and EX once I get confirmation those addresses are gone. I called Experian through their dispute phone number instead of their usual number that you can find on Google.

Does this also work when removing addresses from LexisNexis? I know I've already had them frozen when I called a few weeks ago to request that freeze.

I’m currently in the process of using this technique to delete old addresses from Experian.  So far, I’ve seen some success by calling TU and EX (deletions of all extra names, addresses, phone numbers).

For Experian, I’m currently waiting the 21 days necessary for step 2, as outlined in the thread.  My only concern at this point is that I have 2 names remaining on my EX report.  While both are correct, they both have different ‘Name ID’. One name includes my middle initial while the other doesn’t.

Am I correct in thinking that this needs to be deleted?  Upon my initial call, the rep advised me this is normal and she cannot do anything.  Does the extra name id indicate I have a split file?

Any advice/help is appreciated!

Thanks!

Update:  TU and EQ deleted all incorrect addresses/information.

Experian refuses to delete any address connected to a tradeline despite following this technique verbatim.  Very frustrating indeed..

I did record the conversation.  Any help or advice is appreciated!

HUCA. You'll definitely get some hard-asses at EX that have heard all the tricks and won't budge for anything, but there are some softies that will work with you.

EX rep “Well sir, have you tried picking up the phone and calling the creditors versus mailing them a certified letter?”  😂

Thanks, I’ll try again.

I guess the Experian rep was just friendly, but I've got an old address reported by a CA deleted without even asking for that. Initially I've called to ask for removal of duplicate current address and the rep himself offered to delete the old address (I was going to ask for that later anyway). That happened in mid-October.

I apologize in advance. I know the moderators don’t like when we bump up old threads.

Please excuse me as I did not want to make “another thread” and waste space here.

Does these methods still work? I need to delete old address from Experian.

Just asking, but I’ll start a new thread if you want.

I think these approaches have always been YMMV but the thread is full of good ideas to try if you haven't already.
