mycorrado2
Fyi, just requested deletion online with EQ and they dropped the ones no associated with tl. Others remained even though the response report shows deleted.. Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk
Loaded
I disputed online with EQ. I didn't provide any supporting documentation/proof of residence. They removed within 1 day. Transunion was all done over the phone, was very quick and met no resistance. EX was done over the phone and all were deleted except for 1 which was tied to a PR. I called back later per the OP but that strategy didn't work with the rep. He wouldn't budge so I quickly terminated the call. I filed a complaint with the CFPB then EX agreed to delete. BrokeTriathlete
What did the complaint to cfpb say? Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk I'd be very interested to see what was written as well. I think I'm going to have to do the same thing with EX. They won't delete any addresses, in fact they added a variation of my BR address so now I have two to delete of that specific address. The result page said they were deleted, but on the very next page under personal information the addresses were still listed.
Loaded
I wrote that I contacted EX over the phone to dispute an address that isn't mine, they refused to update. I expect them to remove inaccurate information.
BrokeTriathlete
I've tried this and they won't delete the addresses because accounts are actively reporting them. I stated exactly what the OP posted. I tried two different times. They kept asking if the account is mine. First time I said yes and they said screw you, then the second call I said no and they tried transferring me to special handling. Both TU and EQ deleted the bad addresses no problem. Should I just file a CFPB complaint? Edited August 4, 2015 by BrokeTriathlete
AZNewbie
Called EX today about 2 old addresses. Both have negative TL attached (he wouldn't tell me which TLs, but did tell me how many). I said "Well, I updated my information with all my creditors at least a month ago..." he said "Wait a minute and let me check those TLs again." And then he deleted them!! I haven't checked yet to see if they are already gone, but will update as soon as they are. Thank you OP and CB.
BrokeTriathlete
I tried 4 different times today and no one bought the certified mail line. They keep saying because my BR address is being reported by trade lines. I'm certainly not going to update my BR address to the current one because that'll do me no good. I'm not sure how to proceed from here. They obviously aren't making notes in my account because they don't say, "Hey you just called here." Etc. Anyone have luck with getting a BR address deleted? I've tried a certified mail letter prior to calling them today with no dice. I even sent a current pic of my DL, utility bill, etc.
AZNewbie
So I checked EX and the addresses are, in fact, gone. However, I cannot seem to get my final "baddie" address off of TU. I called yesterday and the guy assured me it would be gone in 24 hours. Nope. So I disputed online. Resolved within a couple of hours and the address is still there. It is the address attached to my 2010 foreclosure... anyone have ideas on how to get TU to let go of it?
josephina
My first call to have an address associated with a negative TL deleted, I messed up, did not follow script, got a USA rep who seemed knowledgeable. Result: failure. Second call, I used a different tact, again did not follow script, but asked to have the bad address merged into a similar address (bad address said apt 2, OK address had no apartment number). The rep who sounded like she could have been at foreign center, also sounded inexperienced, said yes. She did not mention the negative TL nor did I. Received the written cr which shows the address deleted and the negative TL has no address identifier. Now I need to get the negative TL deleted which is Verizon, amount is $100+-. Interestingly there is also a bad name spelling on my cr (different first letter of last name) and the first rep I spoke to would not delete it because it was associated with the Verizon account. So I am thinking I should try again to get that name deleted, via phone and hoping to get a cooperative rep, and keep calling back until done? And once that is deleted (or deemed futile) dispute the Verizon as not mine? Should this be done via mail?
BrokeTriathlete
Josephina what was your script that you gave to the third inexperienced employee?
josephina
Josephina what was your script that you gave to the third inexperienced employee? Basically that I was reviewing my report, concerned about possibility of identity theft, wanted to delete an incorrect address which needed to be merged into another one, that "apartment 2" was incorrect and should be merged into the address that did not have "apartment 1". I am not sure she even cared what I said, I got pretty lucky with that rep. There are several posts a few pages back that did the same thing, that's where I got the idea. josephina
Today I got the misspelled name (the one associated with the Verizon account) deleted as well as the address that was similar to the address that was linked to Verizon (which dear readers if you've been following along, I got deleted a few days ago). For this round, I again called 800-360-7580. Got a fellow with a southern drawl, 100% American. I asked to have the name deleted, it was no go, since Verizon had reported it as such. After a minute I called again. Fellow picked up who had American name but very slight foreign accent, Indian maybe, just like Cindy the one who deleted the bad address. He deleted both items, no problemo. The moral of this story is, never give up, eventually you'll get sent to India. Once I get the written report with the latest deletions, I'll submit a written dispute of the account. If anyone has any handy advice on what to say or not to say, I'd appreciate it! jrad08
For those that have disputed your addresses to remove negative TL's, how many of you were successful in having the "accurate" information deleted using this method? The reason I am asking is because I have disputed all my addresses from EQ and TU and have clean personal info but I have 5 negative accounts that I would like to begin working on. Any suggestions? Thanks!

TL's will be approached differently depending on what they are. +1 What may have worked for one TL is irrelevant in the removal of another. Getting old addresses off is a starting point. But attacking and removing TLs is a case-by-case basis. As advised, start a thread. List the negatives (creditor, balance, status), whether they are still tied to an address. People will be able to advise from there.
cherishangel
To have our BK address removed after trying this posts method 3 times (It's our current address and associated with current TL's and med collections). 1.First we Opted out of LXN 2.While waiting for that to update We rented a local Mail box at a UPS store which shows a physical address (Not a P.O. box) 3.We had all our current CC's, TL's , insurance, bills updated to be sent to the new Mail box address 4.Waited to have The CC's and others report the new address to TU, EQ, EX on next monthly update 5.While waiting for that update we began having old addresses removed except the current one associated with BK and recent med CA's . So when the New mail box address is updated into their systems we only had to deal with the Hard BK addy. and since they can't pull info from LXN to confirm anymore and it' not being reported by current TLs it's easier to kill. 5.But we go one step further after the new mail box address shows on reports and ask them to update the BK address as "it's close but incorrect" and instead of 607 H*** Ln it's actually 6070 H*** Ln (which does not exsist). 6. Then a week later I call to request removal. I explain that I am very afraid of ID Theft because I ignored the 2 letters I got months ago from Anthem and Target about information theft but then 2 weeks ago I began getting crazy phones calls from a non exsistant DC clearly from out of country with my SSN and my OLD address threatening me and demanding payment over the phone without validation for a loan I never applied or received and they are calling multiple times a week verifying that address saying they are sending someone over and the address is my grandmothers! (True story). I state there is no need yet for a Freeze as I am moving in a couple weeks and need it pulled for lease and utilities, so just delete the address please. ... Done without hesitation. yay! 6.Now wait 3 weeks and send off letters to remove BK and med collections
DeterminedinNC
thanks to advice in this post, I used my hardcopy report and figured out which addresses were connected to baddies..luckily, both also had a similar incorrect address on my report as well...i got the very nice CSR, who indeed had an accent, to delete several other addresses first. Then I tried the first baddie address, telling her one of the similar addresses was the correct version. DELETED no problem...did a few more with no baddies attached, then went in for the kill of the last baddie address. I was so freaking nervous!!! Now all baddie attached addresses are gone from all 3 reports!!! The only thing left is one of my listing of my name (which has the correct first and last name but with the first 3 letters of my middle name) is attached to a medical baddie that I sent the initial dispute out on today...hopefully WhyChat's method will take care of that regardless... I love CB!!!!!!

BrokeTriathlete
No unfortunately there's only one variant of the address, which is the correct one. I've called, literally, probably a dozen times trying to get it off. No go.
