Hi Friends.

My FICOs were 810, 805, 795 in Oct 2013. Now they are 684, 690, 790.

Five years back I terminated my cellphone service with TMobile after paying Early Termination Fee(ETF) and final payment of $200 + $42 which was paid as a final settlement. I got ATnT service with a new phone number. After termination of the service TMobile system erroneously generated a bill for the next month for $42. I tried to access my TMobile online account but it was already disabled after my final payment of $242. So I called the Customer Service Representative (CSR) and explained the situation. I remember that at the end of the call the CSR agreed to make corrections in their system.

Within a month I had to move to a new place for my job. ( i.e. I changed my phone number and my address, but TMobile still had my email address). No communication received from TMobile after I moved even though I had forwarded my mail through USPS to the new address.

In December 2013, Enhanced Recovery (CA) reported a collection account on Experian and Equifax. They updated it as 'past due' since Jan 2014. This account will fall off in Mar 2016. No communication in any form ever received from Enhanced Recovery Corporation.

I found my dream home and wanted to apply for mortgage and that's why i ordered my Credit Reports and found out about this account.

I discovered CreditBoards through google and read as many posts as possible in the last 8 hours. I learned a lot from the forum posts but I am still unclear about the correct strategy to get this account deleted. Hence I am requesting you guys for guidance.

One more thing, although I did settle the account with TMobile, as of now I have no documents or emails to support my claim. I tried to login into my TMobile account again today but it is still disabled.

Any help, comments and opinions is highly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

TL;DR : New Collection account showed up on EX and EQ because of a wrongly generated bill by TMobile after service termination. Need to get rid of the collection as applying for mortgage.

How much is the Account for?

I would 1-2 Punch this. And escalate to CFPB and when asked to get the OC involved say yes.

Its what I did for ATT.

If "Fast" is what your after.. you could attempt PFD... But thats up to you.

Thanks nysbadmk8, the account is for $42.

I have plans to buy a home this summer. That's why I need to clean this "fast" :)

I feel it would be easier to deal with TMobile than Enhanced Recovery.

Thanks for these two options. I am researching them as I am new to the game.

Send a DV letter to the CA (search for some of ICANHASMUNY 's templates) and mail in a dispute to the CRAs. Should have it taken care of within 30 days. Send CMRR and keep the paper trail docs! The CA can't validate the account or verify it to the CRAs if it is incorrect.

I am now applying for a mortgage, and this so called collection is having a negative effect on my credit reports.

Please contact Enhanced Recovery and recall this erroneous account, If i am denied a mortgage based on your poor record keeping, I will turn this over to an attorney for damages based on vicarious liability.

Sent a DV to the CA CMRRR. Will send the disputes to CRAs as soon as I receive the RR. Does it matter I am DV ing this three months after the collections appeared on my report? I am following the flowchart. :)

Tried to get in touch with TMobile. After talking to 4 different CSRs and holding for about one hour, the only thing they told me was I had to deal with the CA. They could not even confirm the name of the CA and the account details but were sure if the account was turned over to the CA it must be correct. Anyway, will a letter like this help if their accounts are somehow correct or I not having any written evidence or email evidence that it was wrongly billed ( or even I had an account). I was expecting TMobile to be more helpful. Thanks for the letter templates.
