On the off chance that there's a CB'er out there that's from the Lehigh Valley in PA, and even more specifically, has connections with any wedding venues (particularly Glasbern Inn or Bear Creek Mountain Resort), would love to be able to PM you about planning a wedding in early/mid 2015 for myself and soon-to-be-DW. Prices for these places can be so high!!

^^^

We paid $50 at the courthouse and then invited our 3 witnesses to lunch. I think my dad ended up paying for lunch.

THREE witnesses? Now that's extravagant. :P

At least Dad picked up the tab for lunch!

I know! I don't know many more people than that

Nothing at all wrong with having a big wedding.

If....you can afford it, or it meets with your budget.

If these two places are out of your budget, look elsewhere. Check local garden clubs, parks, and the like. If you are having a church wedding, consider having your reception there as well. We had our reception at the church (in their fellowship hall) and had it catered and decorated....flowers everywhere. Or if you want to go with a big venue, consider hors d'oeuvres instead of a sit down meal, And a DJ instead of a live band.

My husband and I had a courthouse wedding too (with our daughter, and my husband's nephew for a witness). My coworkers at the time took us out to lunch afterwards, at a nice Italian restaurant.

My coworkers had even all chipped in and bought our wedding rings, lol! Seriously! I was very ill shortly before my husband and I got married, and had had two major surgeries, with a lot of time off work, which wiped us out financially. I didn't have the time or money or energy for a big traditional wedding.

We went to a jazz concert that evening, while my parents babysat our daughter.

That was our "big" wedding day, lol. Our 12th anniversary is this April.

Are you aiming for a big wedding reception? Cause honestly if your looking for a nice deal on a budget, I have a friend that decided to get a rental of a portion of I think it was mauch chunk lake with buffet style catering really cheap in comparison to a wedding hall
