When the statue of limitation is up do I still have to pay off the bill in order for my credit score to improve. And I have things removed from my credit report will my score improve. What should I do?

SOL is an affirmative defense needs to be brought up in court as to why a bill should not be paid.

As to the reporting SOL you mention, you can "get items off" much faster.

If the item is charged off then the damage has already been done and have to wait until the 7 years is up unless you are in NY where you can pay off and it will be deleted 5 years from DOFD

Ok what you need to do is get a hard copy of your credit reports from each CRA directly

I have stuff on my USAA CCMP That isnt on my actual credit reports I got directly from the CRA

Old debt factors in less and less as it ages. Count 7 years from the actual Date of First Delinquency to determine when it falls off.

 

FYI: Recent, positive tradelines will help your score as old negative debt ages.
