So I told myself I would be staying away from apps for a while but I received an email on the 24th of feb saying I had been pre approved for the Flagship Visa Signature Rewards card. I immediately got excited and started the app but then realized I had added a few inquiries by applying for navcheck and discover it (which I got approved for with a starting limit of $1800) so I was hesitant thinking my score might have been higher when they checked for pre approval qualification vs dropping a few points from recent Inqs.

But then I figured wth and filled it out. Waited a couple of days and kept checking the status and it said review in process. Finally three days after submitting the app I got a phone call and they needed income verification. After a super friendly phone call the lady said she sent my app back to a credit and lending agent and I should check back. I knew it wouldn't get a decision over the weekend so I didn't check and then I figured I'd give it all of Monday (today) and as I'm eating dinner I realized I hadn't checked the status for a while. Logged in expecting either a denial or review message and lo and behold approved for the starting minimum limit of $5k :)

Plan on taking advantage of it for BT purposes and to help with util. This is one of my higher limit cards and lowest interest rates so I'm pretty excited. All the rebuilding work is definitely paying off.

what are your 3 fico scores and how many baddies do you have? I want a card with them when I'm ready. I joined but I'm still building my credit.

Currently 630 +/- 5 in either direction across the board. 1 neg item (30 days late on my cap one card about 6 years ago). Util at about 60% but I just paid down 3 accounts to 0 with my tax refund. The main thing holding me back is the inqs from recent apps but all a work in progress :)

Util will be even less when those items report as paid off and when my 15k navchek reports.

NFCU has been by far the friendliest best CU to be truly helpful in my rebuilding process so I know you won't be disappointed with their rates or service:)

that's prommissing...I was under the impression that you needed to be higher in the 600's. I'm already at 637 with experian.I have 1 baddies left on experian and and a couple left on TU and equipment that are currently in dispute. I think know I'm going to try psecu first though. I'm going to try and get my uncle to put my as an AU on some cards...he's pretty rich...but he's weird about things. Keeping my fingers crossed.

      Like the title says.

      It expires Feb 28.

Check your email. I can't find a link on the website and all that was provided was a form to submit electronically.

Looking to help a friend refinance a high balance mortgage at $550K 80% LTV in a county that goes up to $625K. Time horizon is about ten years before property is sold. May need non-occupying owner to sign the note also to get DTI ratios acceptable. Current note is presently in the non-occupying owner's name (brother of home occupant).

I'm looking at PenFed and NFCU so far.

PenFed offers a 5/5 at 2.875% and no origination fees with a 2% cap on adjustment and 43% DTI only needing a 680+ FICO score, however, all borrowers must reside in the house.

I don't know as much about the NFCU rates, so far it appears they offer a 5/5 at 2.5% and 0.25% origination fee but the rate varies with your FICO score, still getting more info on this one.

Other Credit Unions to consider? What about USAA, how good are their mortgage rates?

      Hello all,

I was approved in January for Navy's Cash Rewards card.
At that time, their website advertised a rebate.
The rebate involved spending a certain amount within 90 days, and receiving a rebate of $200.
I called Navy this afternoon to be sure I qualify to receive this rebate.
The representative says that my card does not have on record a five digit code that I would have had to give them when I opened the card, to take advantage of the rebate.

I know there are a lot of NFCUers out there -- anyone taking advantage of this rebate and if so, can anyone lend a hand with the five digit code?

      Thank you!
