mendelssohn
I've been waiting for a thread like this. It's part of my strategy to build some higher limit cards in the future. Fuerza
If I'm understanding you correctly. Amex will let you pull credit limits from a card opened more than 13 months old and transfer it to another card. The minimum you have to leave on a card is $500. I'm in the process of transferring my $24k from BCP to SPG and old Blue. I plan to close BCP in March. moosetracks
Someone update for cap 1 and gecrb and discover please... GECRB is a no go, all of the accounts they issue are considered sole and separate and have different UW requirements.

creditcameron
Capital One definitely will not. I've tried 5-6 times. Apparently they used to, but do not offer to the gen pop. Maybe a back door by contacting the EO. Haven't tried yet - I just ended up closing one because they're awful.

Cappy
Ok who is the one going to be to contact the EO of capital one to see if it's possible?
aeromaks
I was asked by EO if I would close some cards to move to another by Cap 1. That tells me it is possible. I will confirm hopefully tomorrow if I had to or just a big CLI on its own.

Your saying they offered you to move you CL from one card to the other on request, or they offered that if you were denied on the CLI? Your You're saying they offered you to move you CL from one card to the other on request, or they offered that if you were denied on the CLI? The lady from HSBC I am assuming, asked me if I was open to closing out my existing two capital one cards as part of the cli on the GM card. So not move in lieu of cli, but rather as part of getting a large line, in essence get partial CLI and part moving credit lines. I don't know if they ordinarily do that or not, but that was my phone call. I hope to hear from them in the next day or two, so will know and will report.
