I am following WhyChat's method for the HIPPA process. I have opted out and then sent letters as instructed to delete old addresses. What I am not sure about is how long it will take to hear back, or if I will even hear back from the CRAs. I sent them a week ago. Do I wait 30 days? What is the next step before I actually send out the HIPPA letters?? Thank you!

You should wait for a response from the CRAs. If you haven't heard anything in 2 weeks from the date of receipt ( check the tracking # at the PO website) you can go to the "back door" of each CRA and see if the addresses have been deleted.

Even if you haven't been successful in deleting old addresses from ALL the CRA reports, you can still then go ahead with the initial dispute letters.

You go to the CRA website, click on "new dispute" do NOT actually enter a new dispute, this will bring up your current up to date report.

( be careful that you do not accidentally opt back in)

I'm totally new to all of this, hi all, but why do you need to delete the old addresses? Thanks!

It allows for quicker deletions if the CRAs can not get automatic "matches" in their inquiries to the CAs.
