 I no longer expect any bank or CU to be the best at meeting all my financial needs at the same time. Much like I use several different rewards credit cards, I use several different banks and CUs, rather than moan about the things each does badly or ineffectually.

SWS is clearly not burdened down with a bunch of mental health baggage ... I aspire to be as clear headed.

USAA is now closed, waiting on PatelCo to close the accounts.

Next round, First command credit card.. I have no idea how to reach them as they report on my credit card as active and the only card I have had expired in 2014. This will be interesting...

You might consider keeping the First command cc open for AAOA.

State Department FCU's web site offers a secure document upload feature whose only function is to lose documents so a kredit younyun employee doesn't have to.

And if you are polite, then persistent, and then ultimately threaten to file complaints with regulatory agencies, they'll let you leave after six attempts over the course of a month.

NFCU, which never fails to impress people who have zero expectations, will not allow me to:

- Initiate inbound ACH transfers into my checking OR savings account;

- Initiate an outbound ACH transfer from my savings account;

- Initiate an outbound ACH transfer from my checking account below a threshold they've decided is low enough for my banking needs.

They also will only allow you to transfer/make a payment on a credit card of a maximum of $10k in any given day from an external account.

That is far superior to Penfed however who says you can do $15k, but when you try to it just fails unless you do $5k or less.

Well, you know...$15 is a lot like $5...but its one more...

So, applying pseudo-SpinalTap logic, you are not missing much because it is ONLY one more...albeit a BIG one...not to be confused with the guys who keep putting decimals in the wrong place.

404 error from a link in a Penn Fedd email inviting me to accept a chance to win $10,000.

Click on the URL link, not the "Enter Now" link.  Obviously some type of sophisticated filter.  (We'll call it, "They done f'd up".)

Just again proves that after you enlist and establish a few credit lines, to move on from credit unions.

My NFCU card, that I electronically push a payment from my Chase account to the NFCU card, has a payment hold for my $300.  lol

I've pushed a payment from Chase to NFCU for three years now, sometimes for around $100, other times over $1,000.

Was told it's a five day hold unless I want to get on a conference call with Chase to confirm the money cleared.   It obviously clears right away, because they wouldn't electronically push the funds out of my checking, if I didn't have money in my checking to begin with.

I understand if this was pull from NFCU to Chase, but this is a push from bill pay Chase to NFCU.

Every time I hear guys on base saying how great NFCU is, I remember the ones that say it either have bad credit or low expectations.

Member for 10 years at SDFCU with an 828 FICO was declined for a credit card after applying, providing the requested two years of tax returns and three months of bank statements, because SDFCU couldn't "verify" her "electronically."  :lol:

I just tried to login to NFCU through the app and it asked me to complete a 2 factor authentication. One of the options was sending a push notification to my mobile device (clearly noted as "this device"). Sure enough it worked and I verified my login by clicking accept on the same device.

Oh and I still had to get to my computer -- the mobile app doesn't show check images.

Telhio (LOL) Credit Union's marketing materials are all ctrl-C ctrl-V from CUNA templates.

Also, while they were busy putting people over profit their ATM vendor went bankrupt, so you'll have to go to a 7-11 to get cash from an ATM until they figure something out.
