Yes, DCU pays 6% compounded monthly on daily savings balances up to $1000.  The $1000 is a cap, not a threshold, so ANY funds up to that amount earn the premium rate, calculated daily.  A "spike" does

Well, NFCU makes the list. Try to schedule a payment for my full CC balance. Daily ACH limit is $10k. Can't pay the balance. Have to either schedule multiple payments over multiple days or push a paym

I went to look for an e1098 on my credit unions website and found a notice that "if I wanted to receive an e1098 I had to request it by December Xth...

So I called them out of boredom to ask how the 1098s were coming this year. The rep told me they had some sort of e1098 meltdown and had pulled all of the posted data anyway. That they were in the process of snail mailing the 1098s that were supposed to have been e'd.

I joined Fort Knox and got their Visa card in April 2014. Was a hard pull on Equifax to join and a seperate hard pull on TU the same day to get the Visa card.
Application process took four phone calls, submission of tax returns and numerous other documents through their secure messaging service and about two weeks overall.
They gave me a $2500 starting line on the Visa when my scores were around 750 and my average credit line was around $14,000.
They've refused two CLI requests since then after a fresh EQ hard pull and submission of tax returns each time despite my average credit line now being over $25k - yes 10x the limit they afforded me after me almost two years of use.
I finally closed the card and account this week as dealing with their archaic systems is just not worth the small extra savings on gas. Even closing the card and account took three phone calls, submission of a hand-signed document, and a dozen messages through their secure system.
SOOOOO glad to be rid of them.

Azalea City Credit Union employees aren't sure if their employer is good for savers or for borrowers, nor do they know what kind of limits they normally grant on credit cards.

Getting a credit card is like playing "Name That Tune," where you name the credit limit, they pull your credit, and then decide whether or not you get a card for that amount.

add GTFCU to the list of inept credit unions. I went to a branch to make a payment on my secured card and she just dumped it into a share account.

credit, car, and checking all have separate logins and to create a login you have to fax in a request. talk about the 80's computing.

NC State Employees Credit Union only reports mortgages to Equifax.

JFCU only reports mortgages to Experian and Equifax.

If you go to refinance these elsewhere, how much madness will ensue when the underwriter notices that your middle score is on a bureau where your current mortgage isn't even reporting?

NFCU is so amateur they hold your cash deposit made at a CO-OP Credit Union ATM for 5 days before it's available in your checking account. Live in Minnesota, no NFCU branches here, deposited some cash once into my checking at a local credit union's ATM that has automated cash and check deoosits, had to wait the full 5 business days before it showed up in my NFCU checking account.

https://www.navyfederal.org/branches-atms/co-op-network-atms.php

All check and cash deposits are subject to a five-business-day hold beginning the date the check is posted.

My local credit union sent me my new debit card days before the expiration date. My wife's card expired November 2017 and she never got a replacement...just finally realized last week since it's never used. We had to call and request one.

And, notice anything odd about the back of my card? Edit....deleted personal information partially visible...grrr

The back of my card had a place for the credit union's logo that said "CUHERE".

A "backdoor number" is one that gets you past frontline CSR's directly to Credit Analysts / Credit Departments / Account Managers / Account Specialists (different lenders call 'em different things) - these people/departments have decision-making abilities far beyond frontline CSR's; they can take and review requests for reconsideration of denied CC apps or CLI requests, APR reductions, etc. and implement their decisions.

I got some help previously about opening new accounts, but I was curious more about the impact and possible ramifications. I only have 1 credit card in my name, and it only reports on Experian and TransUnion. The rest are AU cards. I have 8 accounts on Experian and TransUnion and AAoA of about 21 years. My Equifax report is a bit thinner. I pulled CCT, and I'm at 777 EX, 782 TU, and 789 EQ. I have been thinking about about a PenFed credit card and an AMEX revolver. I also may be cosigning a small student loan. I'm not certain on this yet, but it's a possibility. I know that this will cause a score hit of some sort (drop in AA), but I'm not sure how severe. I was thinking about forgoing PenFed and just doing AMEX, but I can't make up my mind. Can anyone give me some insight? I would like to avoid permanently damaging my report in some way. I don't know if 2 cards in such a short time is too much. I appreciate any help.

I recently have been working on getting my credit score higher and also want to have $100k in available credit (maybe a dumb thing to do).  In doing so I have gotten about 6 new credit cards in the past 6 months.  All of them have zero balance, about $30000 in available credit, I recently noticed my equifax dropped 16 points.  I assume this is from the inquiries and new accounts?  avg account age is 2yrs 8 months.  Should I close any of the new accounts to increase my credit age?  Or just be patient and wait for the accounts to age and the inquiries to age.

I am looking to buy a car next year, and maybe refinance my mortgage, and really want a 750+ score before I do so

I'm looking for input on what cards to app for. My bk7 is off of my EQ and EX, and should be off TU any day now. I'm trying to accomplish several things with this app spree.
      1. Maximize my rewards on my spending.
      2. Establish/reestablish positive relationships with lenders that may be of benefit me in the future.
      3. Broaden my base of cards so that, once these are aged, getting a new card here or there will have little to no impact on my AAoA. I am planning to nearly double my current number of credit cards(10). This will hurt my scores significantly in the short term, but should make my credit more solid over time.

      Cards I currently have:
      Fidelity Rewards
      Chase Freedom
      Discover IT
      USAA Rewards Amex
      Wells Fargo Cash Back
      NFCU Platinum
      Barclay Rewards
      Penfed Platinum Rewards
      State Department Platinum Rewards
      Quicksilver

My list of cards that I am considering, with purposes in parentheses:
Citi Double Cash (reestablish a relationship with Citi while giving me another 2% option)
      US Bank Cash+ (5% categories)
      Amex BCE (3% at supermarkets)
      BOA Cash Rewards (3% category)
Amazon Prime Rewards Visa (5% at Amazon)
Capital One Savor One (3% on dining and entertainment) (I am already getting 3% on dining with my USAA Rewards Amex, so this one may not be worth my interest)
State Department Cashback Rewards Plus (another 2% card with no redemption hoops, plus cell phone protection, extended warranty, CDW, trip cancellation)
USAA Cashback Rewards Plus Amex (5% cashback on gas)
Chase Freedom Unlimited (Considering this one only for the $150 bonus and to get another Chase card before I go over the 5/24. I really don't see any use for it otherwise. The Freedom Card which I already have is their only card that seems particularly useful to me)
ETA: Looking at the Chase Ink Business Cash (5% categories +$500 bonus) I'm just wondering what potential issues there are with using a business card for personal expenses?

I would appreciate any suggestions of other cards that may be useful, or input on the usefulness of cards I am already considering.
