The major premise in the OP's pasted article is simply wrong.

 

Credit card companies can and do sell their debts and it is completely legal. Where debtors can benefit is from the fact that debt buyers more often than not have crappy records and can't prove they now own the debt. Cleaning this up is high on the CFPB's agenda.

The best advice on the web for defending against debt collection lawsuits was written by a Maryland Law school professor, Peter A Holland

if you want the best legal advice, it's best to use a Lawyer or read a Lawyers Blog, or a formal paper by someone who teaches lawyers,

 

not some blog page by a person who isn't a lawyer who's just interested in gathering advertising $$$.

First of all instead of going after some one trying to share you spend your time some bashing them...that's so lame.. the link to the site was an article i came across that helped me out. It's not my friends site....but if you cant see that well then that's your problem.

I don't "go after" people, as a rule. But you very obviously have not read anything on this site. You don't even know that we are dedicated to "doing it yourself" - so you suggested in another thread that the person might need a credit repair company. We never recommend credit repair companies. Everything you're posting links to has been covered here, and tailored to the individual situation. You are posting links to vague generalized "advice" that isn't even accurate information.

 

We have a policy about links. You don't even know the rules here. Sorry if you take it personally, but you obviously don't even know, much less appreciate the information and advice we give people here.
