I just logged into my account to check my FICO and I was offered an upgrade to Discover. I accepted and my limit is 1K higher than the walmart card. I do have another Discover card that is not store branded.

Great news! Congrats.

I had same upgrade today :-) I've had my Walmart store card since Sept 2012. As soon as I logged on today the offer was in place of my normal home screen. Just pulled C$, USAA and SCP but do not see any hards today. I will check again tomorrow.

I received the upgrade notice today, as well. When I logged in, instead of going to the normal account screen, the offer loaded instead. My account was opened in June 2011, and had a $2500 limit which did not change with the conversion to Discover.

For what it's worth, I never really used the card heavily; maybe every 2 or 3 months and always PIF.

I have had mine since 9/12. It showed up as a pop up to switch to Discover. I havent checked to see if it was a soft inq. but it wasnt a hard. I do not use it a lot, just here and there for some school projects for the kids or salt when Home Depot is out and always PIF.

A word of caution:

It has been reported by many that the Wally Discover reports as a new account, with a new opening date.

Something to consider before you accept this offer.

Yes, this is my concern too, would like folks that are accepting this offer to report how it reports.

I got the popup too. I have had the Walmart card for a little over a year and still owe around $800. The credit line was raised to $2500 which was a $1000 CLI. Yeah!

It will report as a new account. Remember all, as nice as it is to have a true credit-card, the APR will still be an abysmal 22.90%. If you have prime cards, you might want to let this fish go. I was offered it a few weeks ago and declined. Its not so much the AAOA hit but the horrible APR. I have 6k already with the store and only charge big ticket items via the promos. For those that don't know you get 6, 12, 18 or 24 months differed interest depending on the amount charged.

btw, Discover is only the network used to bill the actual charges. DTOKARZ, it will not matter if you burnt them in the past. Its not a true Discover, merely the network used.
