Several years ago, I was once listed as an authorized user on one of my parent's American Express Blue Sky account; it was a revolving account. Anyway, my parent allowed the account to charge-off and it was closed. The account used to report to my file at the CRAs, but several years ago I disputed it as a "not mine" and it was removed; it no longer reports. I was wondering if this situation would have caused me to have been put on the Amex black list? I believe the charge-off happened about 8 years ago.

As for another question, what type of baddies, if any, will result in automatic denials for any Amex card? Bankruptcy? Public Records?

What card are you applying for? One of their charge cards might be a better bet for an approval. I got a green card with a paid 1 year old collection for verizon. I have been paying it on time, charging about $1500 a month faithfully for almost a year now. I still cannot get approved for a BCE. The reason listed were credit score @661 and not an amex customer long enough. Never mentioned the collection.

I'm not currently attempting to apply for one. I just had a BK7 discharged in September, so my plans for Amex are a long way away. Having an AMEX would be one of my long-term goals, but I wanted to dismiss considering it if I would happen to be on their BL.

BTW, I think the charge-off amount was about $1,300.

Hi,

If you had Gold AMEX and optima charged off in 2005, how long do you get "black listed" usually for?

If you get added to someone else AMEX, does that help?

My friend as offered to add me on their account but AMEX did not ask my social security. Just my Date Of Birth.

Any suggestions?

Please help

Thank you.

I was approved for the Amex Premier Rewards Gold with a 5-year-old an unpaid collection and 3-year old late pays on my reports. I ran my name and last four of SSN through their pre-approval site before I applied. It said I had an offer.

General rule of thumb is: If you don't pay AMEX back on a CO they will never give you a new account or an AU card. If you do pay them back they will forgive and forget.

to clarify, if you pay them back through an approved process (e.g., Oasis) Amex will give you an opportunity to apply for new credit.

also, several people who never repayed amex on IIB debt (e.g., Hegemony) did get back in after 10 years.

Is it only on llB debt or have some people who had unpaid COs gotten in after time also...

Was yours included in bankruptcy oncredit?

DW burned Amex back in 2008 for about $7K and got back in last year no problem. Instantly approved for Delta and PRG. Never had to pay back the $7K.

Hi,

After having two AMEX charged off in 2002, I was able to be added to a friend of mine AMEX SPG and AMEX PLATINUM.

Does that mean that my two charge offs are forgive and forget or can AMEX still try to collect them or re place them on my credit report?

Would I be able to apply for AMEX on my own?

CS are as fallow EX 798 EQ 780 TU 790

Thank you.

Hmmm...I Charged Off a Blue and a SPG back in 2011 but paid off in settlement in 2012. I'm still working on repairing scores but was recently put on as AU on sister's Amex Gold charge to test waters and see if I was blacklisted. Any thoughts on if I have a chance once I get rid of some more baddies?

Still blacklisted after 9 years... IIB was around $70,000 or so... so I'm not expecting to get back in easily ;)

You burned Amex for $70K, or is that the total of all accounts that were IIB?

Dude - that was JUST AMEX. And they weren't the highest credit card creditor. Between my house and the ex-wife's house I was upside down by over a million dollars and I crashed hard... Total in cards IIB was over $330,000.
