Has anyone had any experience with these folks? My brother got a call from a caller-id that showed 000-000-0000 and the message said to call 855-420-8338. They were trying to collect on a debt that was CO'd 14 yrs ago. My brother knows it is SOL.

He was told that they had a summons that they were trying to serve him with. Skip tracing will not get them his current addy since he just moved into a new place. We both had to laugh because when my brother informed them that they couldn't serve him at the address they claimed was his, they said, "No problem, we will just attach it to your FL DL and you will be arrested then next time you are pulled over." Seriously?!? Wow, can we say violation?!

His only concern would be them actually filing a lawsuit and using a false service to get a default.....only because of the headache to clear it up.

Any info on these jerks?

Wow, it's disturbing what these scummy debt collectors will come up with!

And there are people who don't realize those tactics are illegal, and don't know about debts becoming SOL, so they will just pay up unnecessarily.

Definitely a scam...google the number, they use the "I have a warrant for your arrest" spiel, also the "You're going to be served in 24 hours if you don't pay right now" spiel. Looks like one of the Buffalo crowd moved a few miles out of town.

I don't think "scam" is the accurate word. This was an actual acct my brother defaulted on. They had his correct/complete SSN. I think they are zombie debt collectors that are violating the FDCPA.

I was just checking with other CB'ers before I advised him to send a FOAD letter.

Don't underestimate how sophisticated and how much info these "scammers" have. Real folks trying to serve you know it can't be attached to a DL and they don't call, they serve. Promise you it's a scam
