getting credit back on track with late payments

Hello,

 

So ive been working a not so great job the past year and recently got a better one. After paying the minimal of my 4 cards for about 10 months, i fell behind on all 4 in Nov and Dec. I am now in the position to be caught up as of this month.

 

What is the best to handle the lates? Ive never been late with any of the companies and have had the cards for at least 4 years each.

 

Should just leave the lates alone and pay off the cards to rebuild my score?

Is there anyway to have the removed with disputing? A certain letter to send?

Anyone I can contact at the companies?

 

The 4 cards: 2 Capital One, Amazon Store Card, Victoria Secret Store Card.

I would immediately pay at least the minimums to bring all accounts current. You could then try a GW letter to explain why you failed to make at least the minimums and that the situation is now in check.

A simple dispute likely won't get you anywhere, especially with how fresh they are. Victorias Secret and Amazon store cards are the easier and more likely creditors to cooperate. C1 is tougher.

I would make sure that all your accounts are paid off before trying a GW letter.

for VS and Amazon, I'd request a GW update after 3 months or so of paying on time. let them know you had job struggles during that time and now you have a new job and you're looking for a fresh start.

 

for C1, they have no GW. but what I will say is if you happened not to receive your statements during those 2 months and you call the EO and let them know that, those lates will be removed immediately.

Unfortunately, I disagree on Shifter about C1. I tried calling the EO about missing statements and they verified they sent them out and will do nothing and they said its a final decision.

that's because you were disputing lates from 3 years ago! lol! who calls up 3 years later and says they didn't get their statement? because of that they knew you were full of it. you call up immediately upon receiving your next statement and see the past due balance.
