How did you accomplish that?  Congrats!
The EQ CR said the DOFD is Sept 10th. I responded that EX and TU has the DOFD as June 10th and this should be dropped bc its too old to report. The CR filed a quick dispute and 2 days later I got a notification that it was removed.

If I dispute a closed account that has a late payments that are older than 6.5 years but les than 7 years, will only the late payments be removed or is there a chance the whole account is removed?  I don't want to lose the whole tradeline because it is an older account.

Much will depend on when the account was closed.  If it closed a few months ago, you might keep it.  Longer than that, especially if the account is with a bank where the accounts have changed hands, you need to be prepared to see it disappear entirely.

The account is from Bank of America and it was closed in 2015.  I guess I'm better off just waiting for the lates to fall off by themselves at this point.

The frustrating part is that Experian already removed them but Equifax and TU have not.

This is always a risk.  The early obsolete disputes I did (a couple of TLs per bureau) all resulted in the TL dropping.

Just did online obsolete disputes with TU. One thing to note is that the TU paper report shows the actual date it will fall off. The online dispute report shows a date, too, but in some cases it was an erroneous date for some reason. Going by the paper report date, I disputed 6 months before the removal date and the dispute was processed instantly and the TLs were deleted. They obviously have an automated early delete system that triggers at 6 months. One account showed an erroneously early drop date online, so I tried to dispute that one also and it came back verified after 2 weeks. So don't trust the online dates.

Anyone have any recent experience on EX? Have some coming up due for deletion in Apr 2023, so my plan was to dispute online on Feb 1. But wasn't sure if they have an automated early delete system like TU or if it's more manual. I also have some due to delete in May/Jun.

It's been my experience with Experian that it will automatically delete around the time of the estimated date listed. I recommend calling the dispute department directly to see when an item can be removed. 95% of the time I called, they have been helpful. The other 5%, I HUCA.

TU will delete up to 6 months early. I would call and the rep will file the dispute and their back office will take care of the rest.

Ughhh I am so ready for my time in credit jail to be up. I have 1 account on Equifax and 5 on Experian that are coming up soon. The dates range from 11/2023 to 04/2024. The main one I want to get deleted is a charge off from Elan Financial Services for $23k. Once that sucker is gone, my scores are going to skyrocket!

have we reached a consensus on the timing with Equifax and Experian? I think I’ll probably start trying at about 6 months before the removal date, which would start in May of 2023.

I don't think there is clear consensus but I would try 6 months early. rinse, repeat if needed. please be sure to report back :)

Well TU online disputes still work instantly if within 6 months. Did an online dispute for my brother just now. It was due to fall off in May.

8:46PM - Received email that dispute was received and investigation is progress

8:46PM - Received email that dispute investigation was completed.

Logged in, and sure enough, it said the TL was removed.

No love from EQ. I did an online dispute for the same derog account 3 months early, and they didn't delete it. Will try again next month.

Update. The derog on Equifax which was due to fall off on 5/2023, came off early. I checked today, and it is gone. My brother has one more negative acct that's due to fall off June 2024. Will do the next set of disbutes starting in Dec 2023.
