BK7 removed from TU yesterday!

Scheduled to be removed 1/2021.

I called in and the rep asked some ID verification questions. She then said there was an error on my report and she was correcting the error. I asked what the error was. "Sir, I can't give you that information. You will receive an updated report in the mail detailing the updates. What can I help you with?" It was quite odd. I asked if she would remove the bankruptcy from my file. She said she could not and that it would be automatically removed in January. So I asked for a supervisor.

While I was waiting for her to transfer the call, I logged into my online TU account and noticed that the status of my freeze was listed as unknown. I'm not sure what compelled me to do this, but I'm glad I did.

When the supervisor answered, I asked for the BK to be removed. He repeated the line about being unable to do so before January. I then asked why my account listed my freeze status as unknown. He said there was a problem with my file and was transferring me to special handling. Wonderful.

US based rep in special handling picks up the call and says that I have a split file. She said that an AU account is reporting a different address, but that she'd merge the two files. She then has me check the online freeze status and all is back to normal. I then asked her if she'd be able to remove the BK. She replies, "Sure, I can do that. Give me a sec. [short pause] Ok, It's deleted."

I just pulled my TU report from ACR since I'm impatient and didn't want to wait for the updated report in the mail. Sure enough the BK is gone! My file is completely clean. As an added bonus, the AU card that caused the split file is now correctly reporting with an opening date of 1984.

So this was my experience with calling EX and TU this morning. Explained to both that, "these accounts are too old to be reporting".

EX:
Called twice regarding 2 collection accts. One falls off on 10/2020 the other falls off on 11/2020, both times they said the earliest they could delete was 1 month prior.

TU:
Called once regarding 1 collection account that falls off on 1/2021. He said he would submit a disbute and I would get an update in 30 days.

Update.

Decided to call EX back today on the account that is due to fall off on 10/10. Got an onshore rep, she said typically they only delete if its within 30 days of fall off date, but since it was close enough to 30 days she would go ahead and delete it.

Asked about the one that is due to fall off on 11/20 and she told me I had to wait until 10/20 to ask for early deletion.

I am finally getting close to what may be a 150 point jump.  Watching the clock for the last few years after pulling my head out of the sand has seemed like decades.  2 CA's and 7-9 CO's....  tick, tick, tick...

In my case my "will be removed by" dates are all over the map.  Going by the DOFD, what should I do and when?  All are 2-2021 to 4-2021 in terms of DOFD.  Some say they will be removed earlier, some later if you go by what the reports say.

Going by the actual DOFD which CRA does what?   Should I figure 7 years?  More, less?

Thank you!

PS: Hope all are safe here!

I had a paid CO dropped off EX three months early without any action on my part.

Well..  an update.  I had read from a rouge element poster on MF about a method that seems to be working with TU regarding EE  and tried it.  It involves the dreaded online dispute method.  I tried it today with impressive results.  I went for EE on my two big collections that showed 2-21 and 3-21 as deletion dates.  Both were deleted from TU immediately.  I added in a 4-21 $5k CO just for the hell of it and that was deleted as well.  One dispute in 24 hours apparently so I will throw all of them at the TU EE wall tomorrow and see what sticks.  Wish me luck!

CONGRATS!!! Seems like it's pretty standard for TU to delete 6 months early. Seems like you pushed the envelope with the deletion of the 4/2021 acct.

Likely so but it came off.  Subsequently, I maybe should have been more selective as I sent 5 more in at one time ranging from 3-21 to 5-21 and I do not have any answer as yet.

At least the two big collections went away...  $19K worth. We will see but by 5-21 I will be clean.

I got EX to delete Portfolio 2 months early today. I have 2 more negs with Experian, 1 due to fall off in November and 1 in December. They told me to call in 14 days to get the November neg removed, and the 15th of November to get the December neg removed. I'm so close to the finish line.

Oh, what a great feeling!

Decided to call EX today. Couldn't wait until 10/20. Spoke to a rep from onshore and she asked for my info, Put me on hold for about a min and came back and said it was deleted. And that was my last Ex collection. 😃Will call EQ tomorrow and hope they do the same.

Congrats!

I’ve had EX tell me that their policy is 30 days. I’ve had other reps say it’s 3 months. Info in this thread points to the latter. I get to try that with them at the start of next month.
TU is 6+ months. I got them to delete at a little over 7 months.
EQ says it’s 30 days early for early exclusion. And they’ve not budged from that no matter what I try.
Either way, it seems like you’ll have the results you want by the end of this month. So congrats again!

EX: I guess it really just depends on who's on the other end of the call. last month I called about 6 weeks before it was due to fall off and they told me I had to wait until the 30 day mark. I called back the next day and they removed it no questions asked.

TU: I got really lucky w/ one account. It wasn't due to drop off until 6/2021. They deleted it after I called a few weeks ago. That's 9 months early. 😲

EQ: They absolutely suck. they wont budge for me unless its w/in 30 days, like you said.

A lot of people fail to get results (not just with credit, but with life in general) because they give up after the first "no."

EX just removed my BK7 three months early, without my even asking.  Cool!  My Fickle Score 8 went from 724 -> 810.

There was a foreshadowing of this event three months ago (six months before expected removal).  My Alliant EX Skore suddenly shot up, and BK dropped off the list of reasons it wasn't higher.  I've been watching my EX report like a hawk since then, though, and the BK didn't actually drop off until now.  I don't know why Alliant stopped taking my BK into account three months earlier than EX, but it's something to watch for.

It turns out Alliant switched from EX to TU two years ago and I didn't notice.  Maybe the fact that they stopped taking BK into account six months early is related to the fact that many people can get their BK deleted from TU six months early.  (I haven't tried, but I should.)

If you’re at 3 months, definitely call. TU was very easy to deal with. If the front line rep says no, just politely ask for a supervisor. Probably best to call during the day on a workday.

That request for EE on the 5 accounts not yet at 6 months did not work.  I had to wait until that "official dispute" was final and then used the same method online as noted above on two CO's that were now at the 6 month mark.  Those were instantly deleted.  I have successfully used this method for myself and the DW to instantly remove anything at the 6 month mark.  She is now clean on TU and went from 720's to over 800.

I have 3 out of the remaining 4 CO's coming up Nov. 1st.  Getting those off with their $32k utilization hit should help me on TU.

I need to start calling EX as I am getting into the time frame where (2) CA's and (6) CO's can be addressed.

I decided to give it a try.  Disputed two Portfolio Assoc collections on Trans Union that are scheduled to drop off in October.  Disputed them as too old.  It took about 3-5 minutes to submit.

At 12:21 I received an email saying my dispute had been received and the investigation was in process and they would email me as soon as they had results.  They also let me know that this could take up to 30 days.

At 12:22 I received an email telling me my results were ready and I could go online to see the results.  BOOM!  Both have been removed from my TU credit report!  I also disputed 4 old addresses, all four have been removed.

Decided to push my luck and tried the same thing at Experian and received a Submission Failed notice.
