I applied for the freedom card online about 4 or 5 months ago and got declined because I had too many inquirys from car shopping 8 months prior. When I got the letter I didn't bother calling the number because I was new to credit cards at the time and had no idea I could talk to an underwriter. I know right now Chase has a limited time offer if you spend $500 in the first few months you'll recieve $200 cash back. Should I wait on reapplying for the freedom card or should I try again? Any suggestions?

If you haven't applied for anything since that's hit the report(s) they pull, then you may have a better chance because inquiries reporting then may have fallen off now. Inquiries, though factored into your FICO, don't play a hige role in raising and dipping scores and I believe you simply had too many from applying for other credit and scoring wasn't a factor.

Yeah, at the time I had 17 or 18 inquiries from car shopping because my dad was an out of state co-signer and many banks wouldn't accept him even though his fico was 780+. Within the last month or so I've applied for discover and citi and also got a pre approval offer from amex blue sky a week ago. I was accepted for both the discover and amex but declined for the citi. So the only inquiries I have from less than a year ago is verizon, citi, amex, discover, and kay. Is it still a good idea to reapply with those on my credit report?

So those 17 from car shopping that are 12 months aged are still on there plus 5 under a year and 3 of those 5 under a month. Depending on which reports have what, you may need to give it more time. If you can give us a better breakdown we can judge better.

I created a myfico account with score watch a few days ago and just looking at my EQUIFAX credit report right now I'm seeing 7 inquires:

June 18: Capital one auto finanacing ( mom wanted me to cosign for her, didn't end up getting a car after all. Dumb desicion of me, I know.)

June 19: Capital one auto financing (duplicate??)

June 21: Kay (1,000 CL)

July 12: Verizon

October 9: Midway Nissan Car Dealership. (without my concent; I need to dispute this)

November 24: Discover ( 1,000 CL)

November 25: Citibank (declined)

Good thing I looked at my credit report because theres a few things that shouldn't be on there.

On Credit Karma it says I have 19 inquiries on my Transunion. 17 or so I believe are from car dealerships, but I am unable to see what they all are.

Is there a way to get my transunion and experian credit reports without paying?
