I currently have open disputes with EQ & TU for incorrect reporting on some TL's (not as obsolete). I haven't disputed them yet with EX because I was trying to get old addresses removed. They won't delete the old addresses, so I sent them another request to delete them.

I doubt EX will delete the old addresses.. although the 2nd request hasn't been processed yet (that I know of). EX is the only CRA with earlier 7 year dates on the same accounts disputed for inaccuracies with EQ & TU. My question is, since I have a lot of different things going on with the CRA's, should I wait until I hear back from all of them to do an obsolete with EX in hopes they remove (3 - 4 months early)? Or, should I go ahead and dispute the same way I did with the EX & TU for the inaccuracies and then save the obsoletes for later?

Thanks!

They will delete them. Have you called them yet? (Before everyone goes on about not calling just give it a rest.) I called them and they deleted the last few that I was having trouble getting off with disputes. Now, I did have a temp fraud alert that I placed on my reports because I was fighting a CA that sent letters to old addresses after I gave them my current address several times, which was also the first address on my reports. If they won't do it when you call they will give you, or you can ask for it, a fax number to send proof of identity to (id and current utility bill that matched your id). I had to do this with one and it was gone the next day. You also need to tell them that you have updated everyone on your reports with your new address. If may very well show up again a month later but it may give you enough time for your initial disputes to work for you. You can also threaten and actually do a CFPB complaint because you can claim they are reporting incorrect information. Yes it's not really incorrect because it's being reported by creditors or JDB but that's usually enough to get them to remove it. Tell them if they don't delete you will file a CFPB complaint and then go do it. Yes, a paper trail is good to have for complaints but you're just talking about addresses here.

As far as waiting, they may tack on the extra 15 days for anything new you send them, including when you call and fax something in. You may want to wait until everything ongoing has settled down but it sounds like you're like most of us and want this done now, so it's up to you.

In my past experience and vast research on this due to some public records I needed to get rid of, there are two things that are true about EX.

1 - if the option to dispute as obsolete appears on your online dispute, always choose it. it only appears , in my experience, when your date is near and it always works, again in my own experience.

2 - if you want to get rid of your address on EX you must choose "never lived there" as the reason. If you have any TLs currently reporting that are attached to the same address, it will quite likely not work. If you have a TL temporarily not reporting because it is in dispute and it is attached to that address, give it a shot at disputing as never lived there. You may kill two birds with one stone - the dispute on the addy may not find any TLs to verify it and end up being deleted, and your old TL may try to verify via the old address that may then no longer be there, and also ultimately get deleted. (Remember, records are "verified" via matching a certain number of points of info depending on the dispute reason given, if you can change enough points of info that stuff cant be verified, it goes poof in the night, which is why you try to get rid of past addresses. You might want to be mindful of this if you have multiple name spellings on your tradelines as compared to now, or any wrong birthdates attached to any TLs or anything... )

These are based on some reverse engineering several years ago and experience also several years ago (see my sig for dates of my credit repair journey thus far) and may no longer be accurate. My method did make stuff disappear before my lawyer did, though. YMMV.
