Happy Holidays,

Was curious as to who has the most Chase cards and your limits....

If you have more than 4 --- how long did you wait between your apps. ?

I currently have 4 Chase cards that are open... All were obtained within the last 6 months fairly close to each other.

Chase Sapphire Preferred

Chase Southwest Plus (closed after approved for Premier)

Chase Southwest Premier

Chase Marriott Premier

Chase Freedom

DW was approved for:

In May:

Marriot (5K)

Freedom (2700)

last week:

Sapphire Preferred (11800)

Slate (4000)

Both times we had to call in to get approved for the 2nd card. She was denied a Chase Ink business (too many inquiries). Going to hold off on any more Chase apps for at least 1 year.

I have 4:

-Amazon (3k)

-CSP (12k)

-Freedom (8k)

-UA Explorer ($6k)

I typically waited 6 months between apps with no issues, but I got CSP in October 2013, then went for Freedom a month later. Chase asked me to move around limits, so I ended up closing a Hyatt card and transferring the (8k) limit to Freedom.

Interesting Results...

Mine are...

Southwest Premier (12k)

Sapphire Preferred (5k)

Marriott Premier (10k)

Freedom (6k) odd limit.

I also recently found out that all of their Signature Rewards cards have a min. of 5k opening CL. At least that is what a Recon Analyst told me. Something to do with the min. spend requirements to get the bonus points.

I find that Chase can be quirky but nothing like Barclays!! Chase likes to see PIF and a lot of usage, per the Analyst I spoke with recently. Basically once you are in and you keep your nose clean, they will continue to give you credit. Chase typically will only consider one application for any of their non business products within a 30 day period. If you app within that 30 days, the app will still be consider if you call Recon line. If you are churning for points, they like to see that you carry the card for one year. Then you will need to wait 6 months (need to double check this) before you app again for the same product and get the bonus again.

So, I really like Chase and they have been good to me. Their Analyst also say, they do not approved on score alone. It's all judgmental lending based on your overall, credit picture. Inquiries and too many new opened accounts don't seem to bother them too much, once you are established with them. They always pull TU for me then a few days later they also pull EX for validation. YMMV....

Thanks to the recent Southwest bonus point promotions and by using some my Marriott points, I just qualified for the Southwest Companion Pass for 1 year! Sweet and very much worth it, since I travel frequently.

CSP and Southwest Premier. Lower limits then I would like, but burned Chase in a BK in 06. When I got the SW card, they implied I should be "grateful" they were even opening the account. Ill ask for a CLI some point next year.. CSP is up for annual fee in Feb.

Only one but I have 4 Chase cards:

CSP 20K (opened at 25K and reallocated later)

UMPE 15K (opened at 25K and reallocated later)

Ink Plus 10K (opened at 17K and requested decrease for some headroom)

Freedom 15K

I don't have more than 4 but it has been as little as 4 days and as much as 5 months between apps. All opened this year (March through October). Not looking for any more at this point so time between apps will probably increase quite a bit.

All depends on one's credit. The only card I had to recon was the Freedom which is my newest card because I hit my internal limit with them and had to reallocate to open it.

Their Analyst also say, they do not approved on score alone.

Many creditors do not rely on score alone.

I have 5, and those aren't even enough. Chase has been good to me!

Does that mean five Experian inquiries?

LOL, no. 2 of the apps were done on the same day, so only 1 inq that day. And I value the signup bonuses MUCH MORE than the cost of inquiries! ;):P

ETA: And my CSP will be 2 YO in Feb, so by March that inq will B*.

Also four. I'm not as adventurous as many here and have waited a year between my last and my third app. Between the 1st and 2nd and 2nd and 3rd were a couple of years.

Amazon: $2,000

Freedom: $10,000

Sapphire: $30,000

AARP: $15,000

They only pull EQ for me, but have indicated that they could pull a different bureau if I wanted.

I started with one I actually applied with Chase but ended up with three. My card with my college alumni association was transferred from another bank to Chase. I also had a Visa Card with Washington Mutual. When they went under during the 2008 financial crisis Chase took that card over.

-Southwest Premier $5k (original credit line $3800)

-IHG $6k (original credit line $3500)

These were applied for on same day I think. They pulled Equifax for app and for CLI's. I also tried for Marriott several days later and was denied because of "too many applications".
