Max Number of Barclay Cards

Wondering if anyone can share if they have more then three cards issued/serviced by Barclays. Thanks for the input.

I don't know what the maximum is, but I do know that they generally don't like you to open a bunch at once.

 

I just opened my third card this week, after being told a few months ago (when they declined an application for the Sallie Mae card) that I should wait a year before applying for a third Barclays card.

 

Some people have reported that they are skittish when it comes to new accounts, but the US Airways card I got from them this week was my 14th new credit card in the past twelve months. My TU FICO is in the high 7s now, which I'm sure doesn't hurt.

 

It depends a lot on your credit picture I think.

Thanks cv91915. I have four Barclay accounts already and am interested in the sallie Mae MasterCard. Tried to do a product change but apparently it is not possible with any of my accounts (ie LL Bean, Ameriprise, etc)

We tried to do a apple finance card pc to a sallie mae and they just laughed

 

But then I thought it might have something to do with visa --> mastercard.

I've got 4.

 

Each was opened with about a year spacing between them. The last I just opened and it was a recon after getting the 7 - 10 day notice. Their analysts are really nice, but don't let that fool you. The guy immediately drilled down on a bunch of new accounts opened between 2011 and 2012. I mean, the guy was really nice about it, but still like a rabid dog who just wouldn't let go of that one issue. It didn't help that I was like a deer caught in the headlights. I should have known better. Miraculously he approved me. Going to church Sunday!

 

At one time they explained to me that they don't PC from / to a co-brand card due to contractual issues. You need to app the new card and then call in to have them close the one you don't want and reallocate the limit. At least that's what they said.

No, they don't do PCs
