What FICO score is NFCU looking for to offer a 9.9% APR on signature card?

Does anyone have any idea what FICO score NFCU is looking for to lower your interest rate to their best 9.9% for their signature VISA card? I currently have 16.99% and would be interested in any antidotal evidence of others getting lower rates for a given FICO score. The credit pulls database doesn't seem to have any data on this topic.

 

I asked the NFCU CC representative and they told me they could not state so given that they believe they are held to a federal law that requires that they do not influence my decision as to whether to apply or not for the reduction as telling me the guidelines could influence my decision to apply since they knew I was considering applying. This seems like a really lame federal law, I wonder what it is and if all lenders interpret it this way? I mistakenly suggested I should call back to ask and they said they would notate my account so that the representative would not abide.

Dont know for NFCU but do know I had to clear a 760 FICO to obtain my local CUs best rate of 8.79%, got the minimum score out of my loan officer there.

Whether or not you know the guideline (the rep you spoke to may not either) doesn't matter much, just optimize score and place the request. From what I've seen they tend to reduce incrementally, so a dip to the lowest rate from where you are now may take a few successful APRD. I also wouldn't be surprised if they look at other factors besides score. After receiving reductions 3 years in a row of 1 or 2% am 1% away from the lowest rate, consistently >760 on all 3.

You can always request NFCU on a yearly basis to re-evaluate your APR to see if you qualify for a lower APR.

+1just got mine lowered to 9.99 from 12.99 on Platinum. Refused on nrewards probably because I paid 1 day late.

A side note.....USAA refused to even consider interest rate reduction.
