Help with getting a negative item not mine deleted from TransUnion

Hi members of CB,

 

I'm not really sure what to do next as I think I've exhausted all of my options... Please help me!

 

My credit score is in the upper 600 and low 700s but with one collection account that is not mine on my TransUnion credit report....

 

Back in March, I pulled my credit report and had noticed a collection of $103 from Credit Vision Inc.,located in Dallas, open in 2008. I've since called them, got the run around saying "let me pull up your file, give me a couple hours" called back in a couple of hours and got "yea, the file room is backed up give me some more time". Basically he cannot provide any proof that this collection belongs to me and has to records to show me... I filed a complaint with TransUnion and got no where. Open an investigation with TransUnion and they came back telling me that the collection was verified that it was mine, even though they cant provide the proof that it's mine.

 

I just filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau... Is there anything else I could do?

 

I hope to buy a home at the end of the year and need to get this removed in-order for my loan to be approve... I could easily pay this $103 to get it in "good standing" status so that I could get my loan approved, but this will seem as if I am admitting to this debt when it's NOT mine.... please help! :/

Can DV the CA by mail. You should always communicate with a CA by mail never by phone. A DV forces them to provide proof that it is yours.

I've tried to send a letter but it was rejected because Credit Vision address is a PO Box.

I have DV Credit Vision by mail, but my letter was returned because their address was a PO Box and USPS does not send certified mail to a PO Box. There are so many complaints from this company on the BBB, for the exact same situation I am experiencing.

The USPS will deliver Certified Mail to a PO BOX.

I have sent many certified letters to a PO box with no problem. It is a very common practice. There must another reason it was returned to you. Does the PO box exist?

The reason return stated by USPS was somewhere in the line of "they do not deliver Certified letter to PO box"

Do you have any suggestion if DV doesnt work via UPS?

I have sent many Certified letters to a PO Box with no problems at all.

Where did you get the address from? Are you sure it is correct? The only reason the USPS will not deliver certified to a PO box is if the PO box is not in use.

A google search of Credit Vision Inc. shows at least 2 addresses for them in Texas which are not PO boxes. This makes me wonder if you don't have an old address that no longer exists.

I got their address from BBB website... but I their address has changed since I've sent my letter... I will try to send it again to the new address listed on the BBB link below. What if they dont respond? what should I do next?

UPS will not deliver to a PO Box. No one suggested using UPS.

 

What is the exact wording of the reason that the USPS (US Postal Service) stamped on the envelope that was returned to you? What is the exact address to which you addressed the item? Is the address you used to address the envelope exactly as it appears on your credit report(s)?
