Coin Card

Recommended Posts

Am I missing something? What if it gets lost/stolen, I'll still have to cancel all cards loaded on to it, because anyone can use it and select those cards.

Also.. Why would I want to enable bluetooth on my phone and drain the battery down like that. I know he said low power but still.

I think the concept is great, now we just need a company in China to copy it and make one with a rechargeable battery

and memory for 100 cards. I will hold out until that happens. Having to replace the hardware every time the battery dies

would be aggravating to no end. I think 2 years battery life is a wish-full estimate.

I pre-ordered this today...delivery is set for sometime in the summer of 2014...this is an awesome concept...I normally carry 8 cards in my wallet and that is a nuisance...so if this is engineered well...this will be a big deal I think...and if it doesn't work as advertised well...I'm only out $55 bucks...so worth a risk...

I seem to remember something similar that was announced that never made it. I wouldn't bother even if it was free. It just adds another crack for your accounts to be used without you knowing. Besides, will all credit card issuers be happy if you cloned their card? Also, with chipped based cards eventually coming to the U.S., this service won't be around forever.

Anyway, since most consumers don't carry many cards, or just carry around what they plan to use (like me), there's little value in paying for such a card.

It sounds like someone is just sending up a test balloon, if enough people send them $55 they might get around to engineering it. The fact they really don't seem to care where to send it to seems to back this up.

I agree on waiting to see if something else comes out... There is already technology out there that will work off of smart phones & bar codes ... so that gas pumps can read a bar code on your phone instead of sticking a credit card in one................it's very new.. but eventually see something coming out to completely replace cards entirely. BTW.. I wonder what the guys & gals of Shark Tank would think of this invention? ;-)
