Why did I get PayPal Smart Connect when I was applying for a PayPal Extras MasterCard?
By applying you agree that, if approved, GE Capital Retail Bank may provide you with a PayPal Extras MasterCard or a PayPal Smart Connect Product. When you applied for the PayPal Extras MasterCard, you were considered for both the PayPal Extras MasterCard and the PayPal Smart Connect Product. At the time of your application, you were not approved for the PayPal Extras MasterCard. Your account type is determined by a number of factors at the time you apply. PayPal Smart Connect provides you the same level of Extended Buyer Protection Benefits as the PayPal Extras MasterCard, and you'll also receive Verified status with PayPal, zero fraud liability and special promotional financing offers.

If I already have PayPal Smart Connect but would prefer a PayPal Extras MasterCard, how do I switch?
Periodically invitations will be extended to PayPal Smart Connect Card customers to switch to the PayPal Extras MasterCard. At this time, we cannot switch your account from PayPal Smart Connect Card to PayPal Extras outside this invitation process.
