TU Jack Attack Letter - No response yet...

Recommended Posts

I sent a Jack Attack to TU 27 days ago. They have not yet responded and there are no changes to any of the 5 accounts I addressed on my CR yet. I'm trying to be proactive, so I'm hoping to write a follow up letter now so that if they don't respond within 30 days, I can mail it out. However, I'm not sure what to do next. What letter should I follow up with? Are they required to respond within 30 days?

Thanks

Did you mail it 27 days ago or did TU RECEIVE it 27 days ago?

They received it 28 days ago now.

Also, if you disputed based off a free annual report they have 45 days to respond.

Yes, I did dispute from the free one. Thanks for the info. I wasn't aware of that timeline.

Check the back door and see if they are in "dispute" status

I will look into this. I've read about people doing it but wasn't sure how to do it myself. I'll try to find how to it on the forums.

Tread VERY lightly with the TU backdoor. They like to lock you out...

How do you do the backdoor on each bureau? I hear people talk about it in the bumpage thread...is it the same backdoor as the one they talk about for bumpage?

Google " Experian dispute" and "equifax dispute" follow the instructions as if you are going to dispute something. ( don't worry, you aren't going to dispute anything at all) enter in the required info such as report number and social etc etc. It will then let you see a fresh report for free as it's giving you an option to dispute. This way of seeing your report for free is called the back door. I look at equifax and Experian almost daily and have not been locked out but as stated you will block you quickly if you look too many times as in my case, only 3

Do they give you a fico score too? Did you mean you use the backdoor daily? Also you said 3 times in what time span to get blocked?

Back door will only give you a report and not a score. I check it daily just to see the status of my disputes. I checked trans union about 3 times in a week and they blocked me. I am personally not going to check the tu back door any more now that I'm back in. Checking ex and eq is enough for me

I have 2 questions....

1. How did you get back in?

2. What's the link for the tu backdoor?

I got my report through the backdoor. It doesn't show any updates or disputes. But I took the phone number off the report and spoke with a guy inside. He told me that my 5 disputes from my Jack Attack letter are still waiting for the OCs to validate/verify and that they have until the 14th to respond. Hopefully my CR on the 15th will have about 5 fewer accounts than it has now... we shall see. I also disputed another tradeline on my CR with him over the phone. I also have another repo dispute letter I sent them last week. So I have a lot of wheels in motion with TU... I'm expecting some progress...

So whats the best way to get a report to dispute so you only have to wait 30 days and not 45?

Order a hard copy from each CRA and dispute against that.

How long are hard copies good for? Meaning if you order a hard copy in January, how long can you keep disputing off the report #?

If you dispute off of a hard copy they will send you a new, updated report in the mail--assuming you didn't dispute online.

I would also think that if you waited to dispute 8 months later, that copy from January would still be good as long as the tradeline and inaccuracy is still on your report.

Sending in information for a new dispute when you already have a dispute in process can give them an additional 15 days. Wait until all your disputes are complete before starting new ones.

That's ok with me. I'm not in a hurry with these. I have 6 months to clean these up enough to refi my auto loan. I'm just trying to throw the kitchen sink at all my tradelines right now. But thanks for the info. I'll definitely keep that for future reference.

Its not about your patience....what he means is the ca's and creditors have an extra 15 days to get you accounts verified. Where as if its only 30 days, you have a better chance of the accounts not getting verified, and ttherefore forcing the ca's to remove the items. Edited by Credit Pimp

Oh, I see. Thanks for the info. I'll definitely remember to wait for a dispute to finish in the future before I file another one.
