I had three student loans with Wells Fargo that i never paid on and were resold to another lender i have since rehabilitated the loans and the loans are reporting paid as agreed with the new servicing company but i still have the derogatory marks on my report from when Wells Fargo had the loans after a few phone calls to WF they are not going to remove the remarks for me and they do not fall off my credit report for 4 more years does anyone have a suggestion of what i can do or a good number at the executive level to get someone to work with me.

I have recently changed careers and am now in banking and have been told that need to have this off my credit before i will be receiving a promotion so waiting the 4 years is not really an option I am willing to put in the work just need to know how to attack this

He needs to be bondable. Explain how he can approach the explanation, documentation so that the bank can get him bonded for a higher amount. I think that's the real issue and the person telling him he has to get it off doesn't realize what they are suggesting.

Proven honesty and integrity is the key to getting bonded to handle other people's money, and also to getting security clearances. Making a mistake and making it right, having learned your lesson early, is actually a good thing. Humility and honesty go a long way. So does proving yourself at your current position, and explaining that there is no way to get this removed without attempting something that at least borders on dishonesty and you (OP) are sure that is not what they want in their employees. Get the correct documentation to prove that the debt is paid. Take the attitude (even if it's difficult) that you wouldn't want to get ahead in that manner, that you want a career, not just a promotion, and what it would take to get this removed would not be worth it.

Trust me. I had to hire and fire insurance agents who had to be bonded, and I have seen people with some seriously bad stuff in their history who really did learn their lesson, and change, and have long successful careers.
