Wow laghetto, I want in so bad with them for this card. I'm just trying to be patient and have my disputes finished. I'm going to TRY and do like Bob W says and app in January for this card. Will u be so kind and mention what ur stats were: baddies(and how many), what other types of positives TL u had when u app'd, fico scores please. Thank u and much congratulations to u...

The January app recommendation is for later Amex cards, not your first card. They will backdate to the year you opened your first card and the month will reflect the month you app. For example, you open your first card 12/2013 and your second 1/2014. The second card will show that it was opened 1/2013.

In other words, don't wait until January to app for your first Amex if you think you will get approved now.

Then get one before the year is over. That will establish your Member Since year as 2013.

After that, whenever you open a new Amex the open date on your reports for the new card will be the month it was approved + your Member Since year, 2013.

That's why you want to open your Amexes after the first one early in the year.

For example:

If you opened your first in Dec 2013, it will show on your reports as opened Dec 2013. (duh) :P

If you open your second in Jan 2014, it will report with an open date of Jan 2013 (NOT 2014!).

Oh mendelssohn, I get it. I wanted my scores to reflect my 2 secured cc for the month of October: US Bank and Fifth Third, and my disputes to finish in November. With my fingers crossed my Ex will only have a paid state tax lien, a paid CO auto loan from Ford Motor Credit and my 2 secured cc. That's all that will be on EX. As of now my credit sesame score is 654 and USAA says 665 so I'm guesstimating my fico, as of now is probably 670ish. When everything posts with my disputes and my cc I'll purchase myfico EX and ask guys like u, cv, etc as to what u think I should do.

I know which CRA they pulled but I just closed on my house and had to pull the trigger. my housing scores was 659, 637,663 a month ago....I have CO on my report that the co-signer is paying which is killing my score from 2006 and some lates on some student loans back in 2006, 2007...I also have a ton of positive credit with a lot of inquiries

Congrats! I got a blue cash preferred and about passed put also. They showed my FICO as 780 and gave me a $20k CL. Only had corporate Amex before, so still amazed that I have a personal one now!

Sent from my iPad

Congrats, aggie! I also just got approved for BCP with a $20K CL. But how did you get your FICO from them? I never got mine ... :(
