Should I get added as an additional card holder

Hi, I was discharged from chapter 7 on October 9, 2013. I am interested in rebuilding my credit and was wondering how I could benefit from my domestic partner's excellent credit. he would be willing to add me to his Platinum Amex card (I included 2 amex accts in BK), Would they deny me as an additional cardholder since I included them in the bankruptcy? would being an additional cardholder status be reported to my credit report?

 

If anyone has answers as to how I can speed up my credit rebuilding, I would so appreciate that. thank you.

Amex will not let you be an AU if you defaulted on them. Some have slipped through the cracks after many years have passed, but I wouldn't count on that anytime soon. Is there another card he could add you on? Also, just because he adds you doesn't mean it will report to the bureaus. I suggest building your own positive tradelines, starting with a secured account if necessary. Look into a good CU that maybe offers a secured card that can graduate to unsecured.
