Paid Items Still Showing As "Potentially Negative"

I started my credit repair journey at the beginning of 2013. I pulled my report from all 3 agencies and went through it and started paying off items that I could without putting myself in a bind with my current obligations. My score has went up on all 3 reports about 25-30 points almost at the 600 mark.

 

 

However a lot of the items that are showing as 0.00 balance/ Paid are also still showing as potential negative on the report.

Will those items remain in the potentially negative status for the 5-7 years or has anyone had any luck removing them?

Are these collections? Paid collections are scored the same as unpaid collections, sometime worse if the dates are updated.

Yes, they are still considered negative. Do not send any more payments until you do a lot more reading here.

Have you tried sending GW letters so they can delete these paid items ?

Paid items are as bad for FICO credit scores as unpaid items. VantageScore 3.0, which may be used by a small number of creditors, does not count paid accounts as negatives but they are the exception. Also, paying collection accounts can sometimes drop a score.

 

As stated by a poster earlier, read the newbies sections in the stickies before doing anything else.
