Hello, I hope someone can advise me. I opened a new Delta American Express card in February. The card was sent to the correct address, but AMX incorrectly setup the billing address. My $127.00 bill went unpaid for 4 months when I was notified from Chase that my HELOC was suspended. I paid the AmX bill, they have since refunded all late fees and finance charges, but my credit score is still adversely affected. I have sent letters to AmX, Chase, Experian, etc. but all that has been reported is that the bill was paid, but still late. (2months now, not 4 months). AmX said they would reage the account whatever that means. My credit score went up 100 points, but still not where it used to be, and Chase has not lifted the suspension on my account.

I would attempt to get a letter from amex stating that they were in error. I doubt you will, because technically it is still your responsibility to pay the bill even if you don't receive a statement.

If amex is willing to work with you, That's GREAT. Once they correct the issue is should reflect on your credit reports.

A long time ago with Wescom Credit Union, the same thing happened to me. I told them I moved but they never updated my credit card account. I made a small charge that I totally forgot about. The credit union called me six months later about it. I said, "oh crap, and just pay the bill from my savings." They did. My credit score was in the toilet. I asked them if they could make things like it didn't happen. They did. My credit score was back to normal. I feel it was partially their fault as they only updated my deposit account address and not my credit card. You got to ask them if they will fix things.

i check all my cards every other day or every day. before i use my card i set up all the information for on line banking and payments. four months is a very long time to not even pay the bill and blame it on no statements.

+1

As soon as the allow it, I create an online account so that I am in the know from day 1. With or without a statement I make sure that all payments are made.
