I would recommend spending time on the beginners forum. There is a ton of information there that will give you a good foundation in credit repair. Read the stickies, especially Psyc Docs seminar transcripts.

 

The more you read the more everything will make sense to you.

All joking aside - When I started out I, EVERYTHING was confusing and overwhelming. Credit repair is a complicated topic. This place is the best resource of information and help that I could find.

 

I probably spent a couple hours a day for a solid two months just reading, reading, and soaking in as much information as I could before I filed a single dispute. The more you read the more things start to come together and make sense.

When you dispute, you are claiming that either the account is not yours or that the information being reported is inaccurate. You have to give them some details and some proof. The procedure for them to respond is in the FCRA, I suggest you read it. It isn't a hard read. Just throwing a dispute out there in hopes that something will be removed is considered a frivolous claim.
