Hi guys I was trying to get my credit report from
annualcreditreport.com. But all of the 3 agencies on there I was unable
to get my credit report by online, they say that I have to call or mail
because they can't confirm my identity.

For equifax near the end where they need to confirm my identity, they said

Now we just need to make sure that you are really you. These questions
are based on information in your file, and only you should know the
answers to them.

_____

Your credit file indicates you may have a mortgage loan. Who is the credit provider for this account?

how much is the monthly payment

Your credit file indicates you may have an auto loan/lease, opened in or
around January 2012. Who is the credit provider for this account?

I DON'T have any mortgages or auto loan or any loan of any kind!!!!!!! what's going on????

one question also asked me in what state or city or street that I have
lived with xxx xxx in the past 10 years.....but I don't know that guy
they mentioned at all!!!

last time I did credit report was in 2007, then I went to Asia, now I am
about to go back and wanted to check my report and .....?????? what is
going on?

as a result I can't see my credit report in all 3 agencies....because
they can't confirm my identity. very possible that my identity is
stolen?!?!?! what do I do now? please help

I guess first step is to see my credit report, maybe try one of those
paying sites? but what if after I paid and they still can't confirm my
identity and can't send me the report? pleaes help !! thanks

you should have had the option with those questions of saying .."none of the above" or something like that, doesn't mean ID theft at all, they are just asking questions about who you are.. and if you dont know these people or places or mortgages then the answer is none of the above..

I had this same type scenario happen to me last week but only with Equifax. I found out there was a identity theft flag on my report (this was due to some disputes in 2012), in which I didn't put the flag there myself Equifax did. I called up Equifax and all the information I was giving them was wrong. I decided to sign up for My fico and tried the trial period to see if I could pull Equifax from there and it worked. What I found is all my Equifax personal information is totally wrong, there is an address from 3 years ago that was never updated but updated to the other bureaus. So I gave Equifax a call and used my current information to verify my identification and unfortunately I failed and they asked that I send over 2 forms of identification etc, etc. I thought about it and decided to call back using the old information that was on my report from myfico.com, BINGO I'm verified through another rep with no issue. I asked that the flag be removed and delete and update the old address. My next step was go back to annualreport.com and only check the Equifax box and use the old info from the old report, again BINGO I now have my Equifax report. Sorry to make this so long but I was asked the mortage questions, street name I lived etc and I have never bought a house. My suggestions is to call Equifax and try to get a good rep to assist with verifying you with your old info over the phone. Just one more thing, I did have an issue with myfico equifax report and I called them up and she just needed to verify me also by looking at my other report information. The rep at myfico couldn't change it on Equifax of course but she verified me to access my Equifax report from myfico just to see what information was there being reported to Equifax. Good luck and I hope it is not an identity theft case, but try to find out what personal information, addresses etc. that Equifax and the other 2 are reporting and hopefully you can get access.

You can be asked these kinds of question when you apply for a bank account or even a prepaid money card. They are just kind of a generic identity verification. Sometimes you will see that a company verifies using Andera.

I have a question on my verification that I know is wrong but because whatever company they use won't change it, I know to answer it the way they show and all is fine. If I answer it correctly, then I don't get verified.

As I have been a victim of identity theft, I have a freeze on all my credit reports etc. so I do get flagged often. I just send in the ID docs requested.

yeah I picked all "none of the above" since I don't recognize any of the questions...then equifax said they can't verify my identity and said I have to get my report by phone/mail. I did that twice. also twice for transunion and the 3rd agency from annaulcreditreport.com!!!!!

ok so myfico.com they got trial for credit report? maybe I will try that! I am so worried man!!!!

thanks

hey but what if the same thing happens, like if they wanna verify my info but can't and won't give me the credit report? also I am in Asia so can't get it by mail.

possible to call my bank and tell them what's going on maybe it's a mistake somewhere and have them pull my credit report, or credt score? any place to call for my credit score so I know my ID ain't stolen!!!

oh and I called equiafax 's fraud department and told them what's going on. but they can't help much and I sounded so nervous on the phone, they can only put a security freeze, or fraud alert. other than that they can't help much so I just said let me understand what's going on then I will call back and put an alert if it's indeed ID theft. so even though I have said that do you guys think they will flag it or put anything in my report? like your dispute in 2012 then after that they put a flag themselves.

Call again, and get a different rep. It could be just a mixed file, where someone has the same or similar name. Don't be nervous, it keeps you from thinking straight. :D

ok I called equifax about the problem, and they say I got the current
address wrong, and also my DOB is wrong. But actually they messed it up
so I told them to correct the DOB. So 2 mistakes no wonder I can't
access my report. anyways she says that I got no car loan or any loans
in the report, such a relieve because the identification questions it
kept on saying I got 3 diff loans. and she said that no creditors
pulled my thing for awhile. What does that mean? does it mean no
identity theft for sure? no any loans for sure? because I tried to get
my report from annualcreditreport.com with the correct info, but it
still won't let me get it online. I guess I tried to accessed it for too
many times so they locked me out or something? Should I try deleting my
cookies or try in 24 hours or something? anyways it sounds like there
is no problem....thanks a lot for you guys help!!!!

also I was trying to get the customer service number for equifax but in
the site you have to sign in etc to get the number, so I googled it and
here it is if anyone needs the number. they got a lot of numbers and the
top one is the least waiting time. http://gethuman.com/phone-number/Equifax/all/

if this application online is too much , you can write the CRA's directly.

be sure to include copies of your drivers lic, SS card and proof of current address like a utility bill.

here is the Topic with a PDF from the CFPB that has a list of ALL the CRA's you can request a free annual report from, and the addresses and phone numbers.

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=500241

if you mail your requests in, since it contains all your personal ID's and SS #;s please make sure to drop these off directly at the post office,

don't leave it in your unlocked mail box for a carrier to pick up, because others can too.

I never can get my Equifax report from annualcreditreport.com - it just flips me over to the Equifax main website. I usually sneak in the back door. When you get your paper report, keep it, you can use that report number later.

What the rep was telling you was that there were no applications for credit showing. They're inquiries (we also call them "pulls")

ICANHASMUNY? thanks for that pdf, very useful.

My uncle is a landlord kinda, what site/resources can we use to check a potential tenant's credit etc? or rather what do landlords use usually.

breeze I do have the "confirmation number" from equifax's credit report from a few years back. are you saying I can use that again and call to ask for my new credit score/report etc? I didn't pay for it actually I got it from annualcreditreport.com so it's free. Can I use the confirmation number still?

So no pulls, meaning no creditors checked my credit and to give out possible loans and such. So good news then, no ID theft just some minor errors in DOB etc
