Hi everyone I hope someone can direct me and offer me some advice here. I am 26 years old. My transunion score currently is 581. Majority of the negative accounts on my credit report are medical bills. 15 of them are scheduled to fall off 2015. I believe i have about about 21. The most recent medical bill is 2 years old..... I have 3 unsecured credit cards on file with a 100% paid on time payment history. My father added me on that is the only reason it is being reported to the credit bureaus. i tried to apply for a capital one secured credit card and i was denied. why? and is there any hope for me? when the negative accounts fall off in a couple of years the liklihood of my score is increasing is very slim considering the damage has already been done. Everything appears accurate on my credit report....so i dont have anything to dispute. However on experian the fall off dates seem to be 3-4 months off compared to the transunion report...... i dont see it as a big deal but maybe someone can enlighten me on this......is this considered inaccurate? most likely they will not remove the entry only update it...... i dont have a bank account either i have a prepaid card....my chex systems is finally clear but i am still having issues for whatever reason so im gonna wait another year before getting a bank account but i am in no rush. Someone please address my concerns..i know i have more than 1 question. Thanks alot..

I would advise you to use Wychat's System for all of your medical collections you can find the steps on the forum. You mentioned you have 3 unsecured cards once they age more and you start getting some of those collections deleted you will see an improvement in your score. As far as your Bank issues Chex Systems is not the only company that Banks are using to report negatives on consumers they are also using a horrible company called Early Warning Systems so you might want to check and see if you are in there system. Good luck

OP I think you should keep trying to get a bank account. Being unbanked leads to myriad problems. I would also go to a credit union and see if they can help u with a secured credit card. If not, check for a secured line of credit which will give you a relationship with the CU and will help with a positive trade line (Installment). It doesn't matter that its not a revolver since you're opening to help build your relationship with the CU. after having the loan paid off you will have an easier time requesting g credit from the CU. I would also invest in buying your Equifax FICO from myFico. Best wishes.

Capital One is usually very easy to get a secured card with. Since they denied your request you may have trouble getting a secured card.

Try Open Sky. There don't run a credit check so there won't be a hard or soft pull on your credit report.

Good luck.
