Since my experience with the Visa Signature Concierge detailed here http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=512771&hl=%2Bsignature+%2Bconcierge, I was curious about using other benefits of some of my other credit cards.

For my own amusement I looked at the World MasterCard benefits and wondered if anyone's ever used this:

MASTERCARD AIRPORT CONCIERGE™

Arrange for a personal, dedicated Meet and Greet agent to escort you through the airport on departure, arrival or any connecting flights, 24/7/365 at over 450 destinations worldwide.

I've been to Dallas and back and Chicago and back in the past 30 days, and if I had known about this I would have made arrangements to use this service, just for the fun of it...

I've traveled several hundred thousand miles over the past decade, so I hardly need an aide to help me find gate H8 at O'Hare or the Hertz lot at DFW, but it would have been fun.

Anyone traveling soon who is willing to be a GP and report back? My next trip isn't until August.

Haven't used it myself -- but I can see it being a nice convenience
for a young person traveling for the first few times, or perhaps an
elderly person that needs just a little assistance.....

Are these the same people at airports who wear vests and take little old ladies to the gates in wheelchairs.?

I am looking for a volunteer answer that questions and others. :)

I may be going to DC late next month. If I do I'll be the GP, but it would be fun to know sooner than that.

FYI...I do not think the service is free. Not sure how much it costs but I believe you get a 15% discount with a WEMC.

Boo! You're right... Plan withdrawn...

Q: How do I book a MasterCard Airport Concierge service provided by Global Airport Concierge and how much does it cost?

Booking one (or several) of the exclusive services couldn’t be easier. Simply click on the ‘Make A Booking’ option from the main menu and you will be taken to the online booking form. This form will allow you to not only choose which service best suits your needs but also provide you with your own instant quote.

$238.17 for someone to meet you at the gate and carry your crap from the plane to baggage claim. PASS.

OMG!!! That is crazy...

I know! I have my extravagant moments (I spent almost that much on a toaster), but this will not be a future example...

I can't ever see this being a service people would pay for. I am pretty sure the airports or airlines provide people to assist those who need it (elderly, young children, handicapped, etc.)

I have to agree.

There can't be X number of people employed at every airport, working every hour of the day when there are flights arriving and leaving. Who shows up to perform the service? There must be an enormous pool of independent contractors who have other income streams.
