Hi guys. I had some credit problems in 2008, and several credit card accounts all went to charge off at the exact same time. None of them have been able to have a collection agency "stick", but they are all schedule to stay on my reports until August 2015.

I am (yet again) rebuilding my credit with the hope of buying a car here in the next 6 months or so.

Question: Is there anything I should do with regard to the chargeoffs that seem destined to disappear in two years? Is it worth waking the original creditors?

Thanks for any thoughts!

Are these debts past the SOL for your state? Does the OC or a debt buyer own the debt now? How many negative tradelines? Have you read the Psych Doc Seminars and the Why Chat's Credit Confusion?

No. The SOL in my state is 6 years for every kind of contract action.

The only other negatives are a couple of 30 day lates on my student loans.

Yes, I've read everything. This is my third (!) trip though this forum since 2006 or so. I get everything cleaned up, and then something bad happens. Working for a better result this time. :)

Get hard copies of all three reports through the US Mail.

Delete old addresses from each CR.

Decide which of those accounts are inside your state's legal SOL.

I have done this. All of these accounts are inside my state's SOL until August 2014.
