New Eq Counter-go to last page for updated counters

Recommended Posts

Figured I'd put up a counter since the other one is down. http://navitechsolutions.com/EqCounter/

Just basic to get started. It'll count your INQs based on the criteria explained here: http:// pointsandpixiedust . com/ do-the-bump-how-to-wipe- hard-inquiries-off-your -equifax-credit-report/

"Anything with a prefix (AR, CSC, ND, PRM, etc. or that reads EQUIFAX in caps or INTERSECTIONS) will not count towards your total soft pulls."

If the above criteria is not correct, just let me know and I'll adjust it.

Also included a date entry field so you can begin counting from a certain date. Which may come in handy so it doesn't count INQs prior to the HP you're trying to bump.

Now this was quickly thrown together. I know it's not perfect and someone could easily break it if they wanted. As I get time, I'll fine tune it, set up error handling, ...

Planning to add a TU counter soon. Though I need to know how to even view soft pulls from TU so I can work with it and test. Anyone?

Think I'll keep this as a work in progress and add features over time. Feel free to suggest some things. Basic things, on up to membership options to track history and so on.

Note that as of now, I'm hosting this on my home desktop which loves to go to sleep and just not wake up at times (ever since Win 8 upgrade). So I'm setting up a hosting site currently and that'll be ready to go this weekend. Which means the url will change a bit. Probably to http:// dev.navitechsolutions .com /EqCounter/

Go to the last page. These links are old.

Thank you very much for this tool. It is an incredible time saver and learning aid.

Thanks OP! :clapping:

P.S. The following inq (with no prefix) was counted and I don't think it should: NAVY FCU

Thanks for the info. Are you sure about this?

The criteria I'm going by is this... "Anything with a prefix (AR, CSC, ND, PRM, etc. or that reads EQUIFAX in caps or INTERSECTIONS) will not count towards your total soft pulls."

So basically everything not specified in the above criteria, I'm counting. I don't have any problem adjusting it, but I just want to make sure it's 100% correct.

If you or anyone else has any input on how the formula for counting INQs should be adjusted, please let me know. Also, feel free to forward along any other bugs/issues or feature requests.

One thing I've noticed is this doesn't work well when I copy/paste on my Android. As the formatting gets lost and that messes up the counter. That will probably be the next fix.

The site was counting one more inq than it should have, so by process of elimination I determined that NAVY FCU was the culprit.

Plug it in with a date and see if you get the same result. Thanks

Doesn't work anymore

Seems good to me. What doesn't/didn't work about it? Is it good now for you?

Reminder: The url will be changing a bit sometime soon.

Setup a hosting account last week, now just need to deploy it when I get time. I'll redirect from the original url for a while, but just keep an eye out. Maybe my home network caused the issue SomeGuyInCA experienced. If so, hopefully the hosting account will be more reliable.

I have a couple of feature requests...

Could you separate the counted from the uncounted softs in separate sections (probably with the counted soft section at the top)? Within each list (counted and uncounted) maybe an alpha sort?

I want to reiterate again how much I appreciate this tool.

Ok, it's up with the changes. Thanks for the requests. When you (or anyone else) get a minute, take a look and test it a bit. Let me know if there are any issues or if you had something else in mind.

I set it up so you'll have to check the box to include that functionality. This way if there are any problems/bugs with the new stuff, at least the basic functionality is still there. So if the check box is checked, it'll include two breakdowns on the bottom. One of the counted inquiries and a second of the inquiries not counted. Both alpha sorted, but the not-counted breakdown also sorts based on why it wasn't counted (either it's always ignored, or it was prior to the date specified).

As always, everyone feel free to add any feedback, issues, or feature requests.

Thanks for the eb counter!

I think it has a bug and it's not counting all the soft+hard. My credit report has 85 inq 82 soft and 3 hard but your counter says i have 83 i don't know why. Can you please clarify this?
