Hello everyone,

I am a newbie to the forum so forgive me if this question has been asked many times before. I have done a lot of research on the site and appreciate all of the helpful info I've gotten so far.

I am in the phase of removing all old addresses from my credit reports and have successfully been able to do so easily with Equifax and Transunion. As most of you know from what I read, Experian wont budge on any old addresses. I got some dorky sounding guy on the phone named Kevin that sounded like he was reading from a script. My questions is this: Is it even worth the time to dispute negative TL's with Experian or should I try to do so anyway?

I also read somewhere that someone "froze" their Experian CR due to this. What exactly does that mean and what does it entail? I don't want to tell them that there has been identity theft if that is what freezing is. But I thought that maybe it just meant that no one can pull credit from this agency but not because of identity theft.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I know people complain about Experian often, my experience was great though. Experian is my best report and has been the easiest for me to deal with. If you have TL's to dispute it's my opinion to dispute them w/all the CRA's. You may be surprised with your Ex results. Even if you don't get the deletions you can at least know you tried and attempt later from different angles :) Make sure you dispute through the mail (certified).

Freezing your report just keeps creditors from pulling that report for credit applications. It's useful if you go on an app spree and get too many inq's on Ex...freeze it and many creditors will pull Equifax and/or Transunion instead...others will request that you lift the freeze, just depends on the creditor.

One thing I've noticed is after I removed my old addresses from TU and Equifax they reapread a month later. I guess the account I disputed updated all the information again or just by their monthly updates. I disputed the address again online and they gone again. We'll see how long it'll last.
