Does the 30 day requirement for a CA to validate a debt mean they have 30 calendar or 30 business days. I sent a DV letter to Calvary over 30 days ago and have yet to receive a reply. Also would I have to actually receive a response within 30 days or would Calvary just have to postmark it by 30 days.

I have a debt with Cavalry. They eventually did validate, can't remember exact time frame, but they cut it close on the 30 days. They noted my account on the CRA as disputed (I have not disputed with CRA's yet). I have written them several PFD's since and they have not responded to those at all.

Did you DV within 30 days of receiving the first dunning letter from them? If not, they don't even have to respond. What state are you in? sent via tapatalk

They don't have to respond even if you did DV'd them within the 30 days. The thing is if they do not respond to your DV, they lose their right to continue collection activity until they do.
