Anyone a member of GTE Credit Union in Florida?

Can anyone tell me if they pull separately for membership and credit, or if they use the same pull if it's the same day? Trying to decide when I want to join. I'm not planning on any credit apps until later in the year, so if they do use the same pull, I would want to wait to join.

 

Also, for anyone that is a member, do they have the ability to transfer funds to other member accounts? My girlfriend lives near a branch, and I'm always sending money to her. Figured it would be easier if I can have her join, and then transfer into her account.

They sometimes do one pull for both at sign-up. They are OK to deal with, seems like they are getting better since the name change.

I joined and applied for a credit card the same day in January. It was just 1 hard pull on EQ for both. I was approved for membership but denied for a card (escalating debt was the reason).

Don't believe everything random people say on the internet, but dealing with GTE was one of the most painful CU experiences I've ever had. Thoroughly incompetent people from top to bottom. The customer service had to have been offshored but I've never heard of a credit union doing that so who knows. I will never ever be back.

I'll agree they thoroughly pissed me off as well and caused me to leave right before the transition to GTE Financial, but it seems with the change I am seeing more positives than negatives lately about them.

Maybe they will open GTE branches inside of Walmarts to complete the entire customer service experience for both brands.

They were just plain awful , froze my accounts, couldn't get a hold of anyone in fraud department for weeks , they called my Employer, and I don't even have or applied for any credit products.

 

Just because of fraud alert on my credit report!!

Submitted everything they asked for NOTORIZED WITH EMBOSSED SEAL!!! JUST LIKE PATELCO!!!

 

Wrote to CEO! Huge Ego, has his own write to Joe the CEO link, the clown or any of the chimps in the office did not have the courtesy or decency to return my correspondence.

 

Kept my ten grand deposit for over a month.

 

Really bad experiance .

Regarding your girlfriend and sending her money, have her sign up with whatever bank that you bank with. Have her open a checking account, as well as a joint account between the two of you. Nearly every bank out there has free checking accounts with no minimums these days.

 

When she needs money, sign in to your online banking, transfer $xx.xx to your joint account, poof, now she can transfer it over to her own account, or she can just simply use it out of the joint.
