Call me crazy how do I apply without a Hardpull

If you're on the BL they likely won't even pull your credit before denying.

Happy to report I'm not on the blacklist . Applied in person Instant approval for CSR 14k and Freedom unlimited 7k only hiccup needed to prove identity thru cellphone code and mother maiden name ect. for both apps. Rep said they pulled equifax would not provide scores. My USAA scores today are EQ 801 EXP 794 TU 806

Congrats!

Approved for Amex Blue Cash Everyday $15,000. IIB 2009.

Congrats!

They still tell me to FOAD.

BK7 will hit exactly 10 years, in March. Though all 3 Reports are BK Free.

I burned them for ~$2,200

Thanks! Maybe in March try again?

Right around the corner. We'll see what happens.

I actually have a current account with Chase (with a very low limit, but the rewards had made it worth keeping) but when I applied to get a Chase Freedom, I got denied due to past delinquency. The account was 10 years ago and it wasn't even Chase at the time, It was a First USA account, which was later bought out by Chase. It kind of sucks that they are stil using it against me. I am about to close my card with them because it is a BP visa and they majorly diluted the rewards program last year. It's too bad that I'll probably never be able to take advantage of their good cards.

I tried to pay the account off afterward but it was already charged off and I didn't realize that they wouldn't update my credit report every time I made a payment so I quit paying. I am pretty sure that they amount I paid actually exceeded the amount that I charged, but the amount was really bloated due to fees.

I had forgotten about this. I'm off the Chase blacklist now as of 2016.

Was just denied for BOA's cash rewards due to past history. I had a small charge off in 2006, which I paid in full, with included fees, a few months later. I'm still blacklisted 12 years later, lol.

Did b of A own the debt when you paid? If so, you should recon.

Honestly, I have no idea. Early 20s and clueless on credit. I'm going to wait awhile until my reports are better.

Mine was 1k, 1600-ish after fees. I assume they had sold the debt off, and I paid some jdb. When I applied for the cash rewards, I was hoping for the 99/500 secured offer. Got a denial letter referencing past history instead. I've had all my checking and savings with them for over 10 years now.

I got back in with Citi 3 months shy of 10 years from 2 cards IIB in December with a $1,000 best buy visa. Later they approved me for $4,000 on a costco visa. Amount IIB was roughly $20,000.

Amex, Chase and BofA still all decline me.

My last letter from BofA stated that I don't maintain high enough balances in accounts with them, and that my previous default (of more than 10 years ago) were reasons for their denial. B of A didn't even pull credit on me.

10 years after a CO with Amex (not BK) under $5000 I am still on their blacklist. Upside, no hard credit pull. (It is April fools day after all when I applied :) )

Had a CO with Chase also from around the same time, it was paid. I appear to be off their blacklist, but denied for too many new accounts (5/24 rule). Just as well...

Don't give a f about Barclay or BofA.

Cap 1 is very forgiving. Surprisingly so is Citi.

I'll just stick to managing what I have for now.

Just to add another Chase data point...

I had a charge off with Chase in 2010 - first delinquency was Jan, and charged off in July, for $8K.  So, 10 oops, 8 years this month since the CO.

My Exp report just had the last 2 derogs fall off and my FICO 8 went up to 758 (from 624), so I went to the Chase preapproval page - and got "sorry no offers."  I thought I was SOL and still blacklisted, but I figgered since I had no inq.s I may as well try for the new Marriott card anyway.

And so, boom - instant approval for $18K!  Then I opened a different browser and app'd the Freedom card - boom, instant approval for $16K! on the same credit pull.  So 10 years and I'm definitely off their blacklist, yay!

An interesting note:  When I set up my online account, it said they sent a confirmation email to a different address than the one I entered.  They obscure it, like m***@g**.com  I was like, "what's that about?"  I finally figured out that it was an email address I haven't used for years... and it was the one I used to use for signing into that old Chase account 10 years ago!  Luckily I was still able to sign into that email account.

So, Chase did not forget... but apparently they forgave :-)

2010 or 2008? I believe its 8 years if the DOFD was 2010.

I just applied for a BofA Premium Rewards card and wasn't instantly denied, which is good. It's "under review" though, which I usually don't come out well on. I IIBed BofA in 2011 so my BK will disappear next year. 770 FICO and I have Platinum Preferred status.

BOA was IIB and I was approved once my reports were clear of the PR.

Do you mean “clear of the BK”? So I should expect to be denied now and wait until next year when my BK disappears from my credit report?

my reports had no indication of the BK when I applied. FWIW, my BOA IIB account was under $2,000 so that may matter too. If you are denied, you can try to recon. good luck!

Citi core is holding a grudge against me, been over 7 yrs.

I got back into Citi retail easily.

I’ve heard both Chase and Citi are amenable to giving co-branded cards. I don’t know why that matters, they’re no less on the hook if you default.
