I guess that gives me hope of getting back in with AMEX but for some reason I don't think I'll ever come off of their blacklist. I burned them roughly 9-10 years ago for less than $1500 but I'm still getting the same message Barclay sends me... They don't even pull credit. Those are the only ones, really.

You never know. I would try every now and then over the past couple years or so and got the same message. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I tried again last night and the next screen was different... I was so nervous as it kept proceeding through different questions.

I got back in with Barclays maybe 1-2 years after BK. To me, they are worthless, though. They kept decreasing my limit. I am down to $500 with them and it just sits there.

Good luck if you decide to try again!

Approved for Amex Blue Cash Everyday $15,000. IIB 2009.

Just for the data point how much did you burn Amex for in your BK?

I honestly do not remember, but I am guessing around $5k or under.

I try once a month or so. I'm hoping they'll get tired of denying me

Since it's not a HP, I've got nothing to lose. Haha!

Every time I try the pre qualify I put my info on them it takes me to the log in page. I then try to create a new account it asks for my card info. I guess I am still on blacklist?

Don't think the one has anything to do with the other.

You can't create an account on the website without a card.

If it's the computer doing it, they just may deny you every single time forever. It's not like a person actually formulates logical thought, it's a computer.

Still, though, I also feel there should be a point where they can no longer deny you, so, yes, stay the course lol

I'm back in with Chase after burning them in 2009. Went into the branch Friday opened a checking & saving acct for a $500 SUB and since they pulled my reports anyway I went for the Freedom Unlimited and got with a $4.5k line and $150 SUB after a $500 spend

I'm back in with Chase it only took almost 9 years.

Amex is next for me

Reports clean? Scores? Other prime issuers? Highest CL? Asking because I am also plotting a comeback with Chase.

Congrats!

They still tell me to FOAD.

BK7 will hit exactly 10 years, in March. Though all 3 Reports are BK Free.

I burned them for ~$2,200

I'll be interested to see if you get back in at the 10 year mark. Usually those that get back in are around 10 years past and amount <$10K (merely going off evidence presented as there is no hard and fast rule).

I am still on the BL after a $14K hit and it has been 14 years. Pretty much given up at this point, but I still try 2-3 times a year for S&Gs

Interesting. I burned them for a 35k CO (paid partial settlement) a long time ago and got back in at about 7 years.

Now I IIB'd them for close to 6 figures so I guess I can look forward to permban.

You just know that Apple auto-correct is going to f up your new term "permban".

There were quite a few folks getting back in with AmEx back around 2012 or so as a result of AmEx's screw up with, IIRC, their debt settlement / forgiveness offers which, in fact, never forgave.

Anyhow, getting back in is sweet, but a heck of a lot sweeter when *D was still alive.
