I got a letter in the mail from either SPG or Amex to apply for the SPG card. I am blacklisted from Amex for a 2008 CO. Didn't know if it was worth applying with the offer code? Last time I applied for the Green card they denied me with an EX HP.

My current EX is 670 with 2 CO falling off this year and a paid CA from midland falling off in 6 mo. All positive in the last 6 yrs 4 mo.

Most of my accounts that are open are under 2.5 yrs except a paid off student loan and paid off car loan.

It also says "pre screen opt out" at the bottom and an apr of 19.49%

Thanks

I think if it gives an apr that is good but I'm not one of the experts on here. I also think if you were HP on last app you're off the sh*t list. Was that the reason for the green card denial?

Was denied for too many new accounts.

Not using revolving credit. (Accidentally had all my cards paid to 0)

No mortgage history

651 at time of app

I'm not an AMEX expert but from what I've read that means you are not on the blacklist. I've read they FR some people so make sure you state your earnings correctly because you might get hit with one if they approve you because of your past account.

They also have a prequalify site you can double check but I'm not sure if the spg card is part of the pre qualify online.

Others with Amex can prob help you more than I can.

I applied and it went pending. I checked the status page an hour later and says "congratulations your application has been approved and you will receive your card in 7-10 days. Click here if you had a balance transfer.

Do I wait for the card to find out limit?

I'm off the Citi BLK. IIB in 2009. Approved for $12K Diamond Rewards.

Note: Clean EX when i applied.

What was the Citibank IIB amount

I was just approved last week for the Chase Freedom card ($6k) (EX pulled); Amex Blue Cash $6k and Amex Plenti $1k (EQ pulled).

Both creditors IIB back in 2007, amounts in sig. My BK won't official hit 10 yrs until Dec. 2017.

Note: EQ doesn't show my BK or any of the accounts IIB. EX shows my BK and all accounts, however, all accounts show as paid not IIB.

Did you pay the amount back to Amex after you IIB'd?

My BK7 is from 2008. Burned Amex for $2,300. I've been blacklisted on all previous application attempts.

Though, through a sneaky little work around... I am an AU on my partners BCP and Platinum cards.

Just making sure this gets to the last page:

Blacklist.png

* Dates are from CO date or BK filing

**Dates are earliest reported back in with creditor - as with anything credit related YMMV

In order to keep the format I had to make it a picture, so you won't be able to edit directly in the table. If you have new data points to add, post them and I will do my best to keep the table up to date.

Per Fitzhume's post #529 Citi IIB should changed to 7 years

I BK'd AMEX in 1995 for something like $1,700. They didn't let me back in until last year -- e.g., 20 years later -- but thus far have approved 4 cards for me: the PRG, Blue Cash ($4K), Everyday ($10K), and (today) the Hiltons ($20K). When I tried 10-14 years out it was instant denial.

I filed BK13 in 6/08 and was discharged 6/13.

Approved for Lowes for $15K -- Lowes was IIB

Denied by Chase for the SW Visa for 5/24 and not BK -- Chase was IIB Looks like I was not on the Chase BL for the BK.

Hope this helps!

What about different departments/divisions within a company? For example, I defaulted on a US Bank recreational vehicle loan years ago, but may want a US Bank credit card some day.

I am waiting to hear about US Bank also: black list duration or any experience about applying after having a charge off or including in BK.

Thanks in advance.

@VintageWillow or anyone

So...Avoiding US Bank black list is just freezing the above two CRAs and no negatives from US Bank?

A few pages back, someone asked about CUs. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about Delta CU. About 8-9 years ago, I may have " :) had a CC and LOC charged off for about $15k each, that wasn't paid/settled.

I think they pulled EQ whch is my lowest, and waiting for tax lien to be withdran/deleled.. Otherwise clean.

So I was wondering if anyone knew if they had a blacklist for their credit products.

Thanks in advance.

So took about 8 years. Did you pay back in full or settle with Citi? How much did Citi lose in 2008 after the CO?

Citi actually sued me and won a default judgment back in 2010, they settled for ~$2500. I think I owed them around 5k total. I just got the judgment deleted from my report a few days ago.

The chase charge off was about the same amt.

I app'd Barclay's Apple card the other day hoping I would be approved since my scores were now near 700, but I am definitely still blacklisted with them. I burned them on three accounts in 2010, all are off of my reports now though and I ended up paying Midland the CO amount. They didn't even pull my report, they sent a letter stating I was denied due to previous negative accounts with them.
