well I don't know for how long but I seemed to be blacklisted by Capital One...I had a charged off card with them many years ago around 2004 which has fallen off my report including the CA that was collecting for it, so it's not on my CR's anymore.

Since then one charge off with HSBC in 2008, which they have just bought, and I believe may be using against me. I have other cards now and am rebuilding but every time Cap1 denies me, I try to fix something they mention in the denial letter and next time they find another reason LOL (even denied for secured card). So over it!

With Amex you are on the blacklist until you pay the outstanding balance in full.

My question is if you are willing to pay the balance on co accounts from Chase or Citibank will they remove you from the blacklist even if they sold the account to a JDB

I IIB Citi back in June 2009 for more than $30K. Now I have two Citi banked retail cards - Home Depot (9/2012) and Sears (10/2012). No main card yet...they will only pull experian for me...and that is a no go in my book.

btw, Home Depot was also IIB.

I've heard of many people getting new Cap One cards despite recently IIB them

+1, I wonder what the variable is with that - last I tried in October I was declined with no pull "past negative experience"

lol, Oh - and how about with buyouts? Such as the infamous HSBC/CapOne now to be Citi BB card. I wonder if you had no negative experience with Citi if this will somehow block your path in.

If you've been blacklisted by Citi, getting a Best Buy card may be a way back in. However, don't expect them to welcome you back with open arms.

I currently have 2 ChaMu cards but Chase lowered my limits after they bought the accounts. I have been repeatedly denied CLI and new cards with Chase.

I actually have a current account with Chase (with a very low limit, but the rewards had made it worth keeping) but when I applied to get a Chase Freedom, I got denied due to past delinquency. The account was 10 years ago and it wasn't even Chase at the time, It was a First USA account, which was later bought out by Chase. It kind of sucks that they are stil using it against me. I am about to close my card with them because it is a BP visa and they majorly diluted the rewards program last year. It's too bad that I'll probably never be able to take advantage of their good cards.

I tried to pay the account off afterward but it was already charged off and I didn't realize that they wouldn't update my credit report every time I made a payment so I quit paying. I am pretty sure that they amount I paid actually exceeded the amount that I charged, but the amount was really bloated due to fees.
