Hello everyone, thanks for reading my post.

My wife came to the states last year(Jan 2012), and i made her an AU on 2 of my CCs. Macy's & Cap1. Both cards are around 3 years old and have <15% Uti. After she was an AU with me for 1 year i went to BofA and got her a secured CC(February 2013). Now she is receiving pre approved offers for discover it card, chase freedom and citi diamond. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to app for one of those and then let it age with the BofA card, or wait for the BofA to become unsecured and possibly a higher limit before i apply for any more cards??

Hmm got me thinking there. No goals really other than a high credit score with some prime cards.

I just don't want to add unnecessary inquiries ESP if she may be denied with a manual review. Her limits are 1k & 500 on my cards and 300 on her secured.

I just want to know the next best action to take to continue her path for excellent credit.

P.s. my credit got shot a couple of years ago with some unexpected unpaid for hospital visits.

Has she tried store cards or the shopping cart trick? I would do that to give her a mixture, also what is her fico with the Bureau(s) that the cards you guys are interested in getting pull from? I would take all of that in consideration.

I think my advice in your case would be very similar to what was suggested in this thread.

Your goals are similar... trying to get some of the first good cards. I would add that Capital One has a card specifically designed for newcomers. She might try that also.

NEWSTART also makes good points about knowing her scores and which bureau(s) prospective creditors pull. Creditpulls (link is at the top of the page) will help you will that.

Good luck.
