The Master of Master Master Threads

Recommended Posts

While I understand the purpose of having Master threads for everything.... such as the newly infamous Capital One thread...... It does cut down on new traffic from offsite people searching for answers. If someone googles "do I need a zero balance to combine two cards into one?" and instead of google taking them to a thread addressing their question they get brought to the middle of a 50 page thread where there are 5 different conversations just on the single page they are dropped on. They are probably not likely to stay and become participating members of the forum. They will probably read a few paragraphs and then say "good grief this thread is all over the map" and never return. And the owners/admins may be fine with that, but most of the forums I have been a member of for years want the traffic. I may be wrong. Just my 2 cents.

And now I have a CapOne question and can't find the stupid CapOne thread...... :/

I have tried to compile a list of all master threads. There are so many so I am sure that I missed some. If you have one that is not on the list please add it in a reply and I will try to keep a runni

The Master Cylinder

Ask A Credit Analyst!

I am looking for a master thread for any of the following:

  • Credit card applications for people who have no credit / have had no accounts for over ten years.
  • Credit cards that are good for padding or prybar usage (e.g. Synchrony, Capital One business cards).
  • Credit cards that are good for keeping a balance (including both ongoing BT offers, low APR, and 0% for new accounts).
  • An updated version of The Master Student Credit Card Thread.

Note that I have already found and am reading The Master Secured Credit Cards Thread.

Thanks in advance, and my apologies if I have missed something obvious.

EDIT: Added one request to the list.

I made an updated student one, unfortunately it never generated a lot of interest: https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=543434

Your padding/pry bar statement is slightly misguided. The Sync cards make great padders, but are ignored for pry bar purposes. I've even had my CU cards ignored as pry bars, and I have the good CU's (NFCU, PenFed, DCU)
