Scored a nice CLI from Discover. Last jump was from $34 to $6k in November, followed by an auto CLI to $6750 in late January or early February.

Asked for an increase today... approved to $10k -- woot!

I appreciate this more than normal because my credit portfolio is SO heavy with GECRB that I need the diversification.

Was it Hard or Soft pull?

Nice! I am at 1k on my Discover card (my next lowest is 2500 BofA). My statement closes 4/10. I am hoping for a nice auto CLI as it will be my 6 months. I am hoping it goes up to at least 3 or 4k. #Wishful

CONGRATS MM!!!!!! :clapping: My More card has been stuck at $1K for a little over a year now. I SD'd it about 4 months ago because wasn't getting any love. I just PC'd to the IT for the hell of it in hopes that maybe they'll show me some love on THAT card. I may have to actually use it some....

Congrats on cli....

I got a bump from $6000 to $8500 w/o a hard pull a few weeks ago.

How did you pull that off? I can't get anywhere near 8-10K without them wanting to do a hard pull.

It's taken me few years, but i've made it to 15K with Discover so far and all soft pulls. Way i've done it requests by phone and online in small amounts 3-5 K each time and 99% time discover would counter with lower offer. I take the lower offer then 3-6 months down road ask for another increase. I use the card often and PIF every month.

I just got mine increased to 5K from $1K two weeks ago. Did it by phone, asked for $10K, rep came back with auto $1500, then transferred to credit analyst, who met me in the middle with a hard TU pull. Only had the card a year. If I ask online for $10K, will it counter automatically without a hard pull ? How soon should I try?

When i've used the online CLI button so far it's gave me a counter offer all have been soft pulls. I would think with it only being two weeks since your last CLI the CLI button won't be up for you, but you never know. Log into to your account look under credit options and check. I need to check myself but it's been 4-5 months since my last CLI and tells me need to call in.

  • 4 weeks later...

So, my Discover love button is back. I asked for them to double my limit and they came back with a request for a hard pull on TU. FWIW my Discover limit is $10k. I have 2 other cards at $24k and one Barclay at $12k. Thoughts?

Edit, just checked my USAA report 790 Fako. 3 new Hard inquires on TU since my last CLI on Discover. 2 new CC accounts, 1 new Auto loan all reporting properly.

Thanks for tagging this thread with "farts". I never would have found it otherwise.

Thanks for NOT sharing why you were searching for that.

I tried "pull my finger" and "flatulence", but nada. I searched for "farts" and BINGO! :P

I accidently requested a $5000 increase.

I was playing with the CLI button to see what the highest limit I could get without a HP. I must have botched something cause I though I denied the hard pull request. Ends up I can't changed the CLI request limit anymore and it says that my request is now pending. lol

48 hours and its still pending, no alerts from USAA credit monitoring either.

Do I understand right that they will warn you before doing a hard pull for a CLI?

Yes they will worn you of a hard pull before a CLI. I think this only counts for accounts over $10k or a CLI above $1500.
