digging up this old post. Last time I was in vegas they said I was preapproved for their CC but I declined. Recently logged in to my rewards accounts and got the pop up I was preapproved so I said wth since I'm going to vegas a few times next year. Asked for the last 4 of my SS so I figured SP but I just got an alert today that they pulled HP EQ. I'm pretty mad. I wouldn't have app'd if it was HP. I'm going to call later today to see what the deal is.

This happen to anyone else?

Pretty much all of Comenity Visa MC products are a HP now regardless if u get the pop up or not. The New account is going to do more damage than the HP.

inquiries don't matter. congrats!

It's Comenity...so yeah, in a way they DO matter...

They shut me down barely a month after opening due to inquiries. Or more critically, ONE inquiry. That inquiry was actually THEIR inquiry from when the account was opened. But 'excessive inquiries' was the reason (and the ONLY reason) given in their letter. Fortunately I had already cleared the spend required for the bonus points...

I know this is an old post. App'd yesterday due to the free parking at Caesars properties here in Vegas, I hate paying for parking. Got a we'll get back to you via mail message. Weird, FICO 8 801, utilization under 4%, 3 HPs in the last 2 years. Think I should call them?

How the heck are they earning money?

Collecting 24% interest from people who collected 27 cards via shopcart trick and maxed them out.

And don't care because *no inqs!*

So basically they earn buckets of money from shopping cart gimps and use that money to give TR Visa people $30,000 loans interest free for a year and a half?

Yep. Same business model that gives us SUBs and 5% back. Gotta love it. :D

And it's 100% voluntary on the part of the donors. Amazing!

I'm thinking about applying for this card, do they give out comps at all? I am total rewards member and stayed once last year, but I don't think the rates are that great. I am a basic MLife member and was offered comped rooms at Monte Carlo/Park MGM.

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about comps with the TR Visa.

I can say that this is at least the second time recently they have offered BTs with 0% APR and no BT fees. It's issued by Comenity so CLIs should not be difficult at all, but somehow they won't let me go above $35k.

I read some holders received comps but those were years ago, haven't seen anything recent. I app'd solely for parking privileges. Have M-Life card as well for MGM properties. Between Caesars and MGM that covers much of the strip.

The card issuer would not have anything to do with that...Caesars is squirrelly when it comes to comps though. At one point in time during the past decade, they flowed freely, even to those of us who didn't degen it up in the pits. In the past few years, however, they have gotten stingy. the MLife program seems to be a little better to me, especially since I got the card...I am routinely seeing decent offers at Aria...not great, but decent. I hate the resort fee crap, but when the choice is pay them the $35ish and have the room otherwise comped OR stay downtown and pay car fare getting back to center Strip, I will take the Aria most days. Have not had a comp offer from a CET property in I don't know how long...

The best benefit from either card is going to be the free parking. Beyond that, better cards exist. I have had both cards, and would STILL have both except for the fact that Comenity shut me down after the first billing cycle. At least the SUB posted...

Thanks for the replies. Even though they're the card issuer, I would assume it would be linked to your TR through Ceasers. Guess that's too much to ask for lol.

There is a link in the sense that your spending is communicated to the program and the fact that you have an open account is communicated to the program. However, even on the website, if you want information about your rewards, it then transfers you to the casino rewards page.

I am guessing the TR card was the same when Bank of America was the servicer of the accounts...I look forward to the day when CET goes back to a better issuer/servicer.
