I have heard people getting pre approvals pop-ups now when they login to Total rewards, maybe its like the shopping cart trick

Yes, indeed, I got a pre-approval pop-up last week, I accepted it but unlike some of the other Comenity credit cards, I noticed a few days later that they did a hard pull on my Equifax report. It was approved for $4800 which I obviously intend to bump up at activation. I have 17 accounts reporting from Comenity so they have been very good to me since I began rebuilding a few years back.

I requested a CLI by calling Customer Service before activating the card. The rep asked how much of an increase I wanted, requested info about my income and told me that since I had been pre-approved for a set amount, it was unlikely that they would be raising my limit. Nevertheless, I told him that I wanted $10K, after all it never hurts to shoot for the moon..! After a few minutes he said that the system would only approve it up to $5550, not sure why the odd number. Obviously I took it since with a little bit of usage, it would probably get regular increases like the rest of Comenity accounts. The bad part of it is that the interest rate is very high; it is great only if PIF!

They pulled Equifax. The only way that I get scores for EQ is through MPM and they have the score at 558. However her walmart FICO which is TU I think is 706 and her EQ and TU file are identical so I am guessing that her actual EQ FICO is a bit higher than 558

Where are people getting the pre-approval popup? I have logged in a few times and nothing...

+1 on that question. I am wondering if there is a special trick, or what type of data needs to be entered on the website in-order for the pre-approval popup to be activated?

As soon as you log into your account, if there is a pre-approval, it would just popup on the screen, just like that! It doesn't say for how much initially, if you accept it, it is generally a hard on Equifax, and then another popup that tells you how much you have been approved for.

Ok something strange happened, I origially applied in April and my score was low (around 630) so was declined I just applied Thursday again since my EQ score is now over 700 however this time they pulled Experian instead of EQ according to score watch got the 7-10 day message SMH, I was hoping they would pull EQ again as no inquires currently showing there (Not even the one from April on this card

I guess just wait and see what the letter says

I received a pre-approved offer upon logging into my account yesterday. EQ is frozen........resulted in the 7 - 10 day response.

Update: Received a letter stating to call due to elements missing from my application. After verifying information, received a $500.00 credit line. Rep advised me to call after I receive the card to request a CL recon.

Another note: EX and EQ is frozen; not aware of who they pulled, or if they pulled.

Okay....logged into my TR account and another pop-up! Don't ask why, but I accepted......this time approved instantly with $1200.00 limit. However, the notice stated the APR was 0.00. Did anyone else receive this upon instant pre-approval? I'm guessing the actual APR will be revealed when I receive the card.

Just sharing my experience, hopefully it may prove useful to someone else...

I applied for this card and got the 7 - 10 day message. Got a letter in mail today saying I was denied. Reason: Limited credit experience. They say information came from Experian; I requested free report based on adverse action and Experian shows a hard pull (COMENITYBANK/TRWRDSV) and a soft pull (WFNNB-WFCB/ALLIANCE DATA); these pulls are both from 8/25/13 and this was the only card I applied for, so I'm assuming both of the pulls are from that app??? I'm not sure what they mean by "limited credit experience"... I have a total of 10 accounts in good standing with no lates, etc... oldest opened in 6/2006... that include 4 credit cards, Target store card, and 1 gas cards; 1 auto loan (current); 1 personal loan (paid off); and 2 small student loans (payments not to start until October 2013).... Also said my score with their scoring system is 661, based on 1 - 999 scoring system.

They are real quirky with Approvals... I got denied about 3 months ago, and my score was 986 out of a possible 999 on their scoring system, still declined? :cry2:

LOL!!!!! I guess they don't want my business  - all I can do is laugh at this point! Maybe if I get a 999 score they'll approve me

Wow that is insane......on another note I applied twice within a 30 day period and it said I have to wait 30 days from the date on this letter, and the letter was dated on the 2nd apply, I wonder if that reset the clock or if it was an error, is there a back door contact for them?
